Introduction

Welcome to the November edition of the Haven Herald! We’ve made it to our sixth edition!

For those of you who are new or haven’t been around in a while, the Haven Herald is our monthly newsletter where we showcase the very best that FanGathering has to offer.

As a reminder, here’s what you can expect from the new Herald. Each month, we’re going to be giving you a rundown of the big news that’s happened in relation to Artemis Fowl, Eoin Colfer, and FanGathering in general. We’ll be giving you updates on popular threads, the Artemis Fowl Read-Along (come join!), and of course, the intrepid “monolith” that is the counting thread and its new secret goal. We’ll also be showcasing the talents of two FGers each month, as well as bringing you the results of our new official monthly poll. Keep an eye out for our pillar of the community award too, where we honour upstanding members of our FG community.

Hello there, FGers past and present! It’s been a long, long, long time. The world is a strange place at the moment, and we hope everyone is doing as well as they can be.

Those of you who were FanGathering regulars will remember that, once upon a time, the Site Team used to send out a (mostly) monthly newsletter. The last edition was released in January of 2010 – a full decade ago! – and the forum in general has been relatively quiet for several years, now. But thanks to a few loyal FGers (more on that, later!), the past few months have seen FG looking like a community again. And with the FG Rennaisance, Revival, or whatever else you’d like to call it, the Site Team is happy to say that the Haven Herald is back in action.

Here’s what you can expect from the new Herald. Each month, we’re going to be giving you a rundown of the big news that’s happened in relation to Artemis Fowl, Eoin Colfer, and FanGathering in general. This month’s FG recap will look a little bit different, but in the future, we’ll be giving you updates on popular threads, the Artemis Fowl Read-Along (come join!), and of course, the intrepid “monolith” that is the counting thread and its new secret goal. We’ll also be showcasing the talents of two FGers each month, as well as bringing you the results of our new official monthly poll.

There is one more new feature that we are extra excited to bring you – but we’ll let you read on and find out what it is.

Hey loyal Haven Herald-readers!

It’s been a long time since we updated! So much has been happening. Our two admins have retired/taken leave (we hope that they’ll be back one day!) in order to focus on school and work. Because of this, the Herald has been put on hiatus!

So much has happened since our last issue! We had a fanfiction contest! The Time Paradox has been released! The Fangathering awards have come and went! And, of course, the mods played a wonderful April Fool’s joke on the entire Fangathering forum. 🙂

As you can see, this edition is completely about genders. You know, boys and girls. As you might know, girls are, of course, better than guys. But hey, the guys say that they are better, so this is a fight with no end. Anyway, in this brand new Haven Herald, we have a lot of lovely articles. We’ve attracted the cream of the crop to write for us. I’m sure you will enjoy this edition very much. So, have fun reading!

The Haven Herald

Many people have tried to stop us. A virus, no inspiration…Could it have been any worse? The Haven Herald might not have come out this time. But, no one managed to stop us: not a computer virus, not writer’s block. And here it is, a brand new Haven Herald for you to enjoy. Let FanGathering be an example to the team making the Artemis Fowl Movie. Never give up, and keep that movie production rolling!

The Haven Herald

Opening the heavy glass door, Butler walks into the dark FanGathering Headquarters and scans the room looking for signs of trouble before allowing Artemis to come in.

“Hmm…Because it is one in the morning, no one should be in here besides a few weak security personnel,” Butler thinks to himself as he waves for Artemis to come in.

Catching up to Butler, Artemis whispers, “The Site Team’s newest newsletter is on the tenth floor. I heard this month’s issue will have a FanFiction theme filled with a plethora of articles and awards. Let’s hurry and steal it before one of the moderators comes to work!”
