Featured Art Throwback: Duck With No Name’s FGers
This month, for our featured art, we’re throwing it back to an old thread!
Just over a decade ago, one of our amazing Global Moderators, Duck With No Name, started a thread of adorable FGer drawings! She drew several active members of the time in her creative, unique style.

Featured Writer: Battery
This month’s featured writer is your admin, Battery. She conducted a very one-sided interview with herself!
What type of things do you typically write? Short stories? Lengthier pieces?
It varies. It’s funny, but each one of my current projects is in a different medium! There’s a novel, a screenplay, a piece of interactive fiction, and a webcomic (created with an artist friend). All of them are pretty long, though!
What’s your favorite/least favorite thing about writing?
My least favorite part, for sure, is those days when the self-doubt gets to be a lot. My favorite part is that feeling of writing a pivotal scene and just getting caught up in the thrill of it.
What or who are some of your biggest influences and/or inspirations?
The biggest influence on the kinds of stories I like to tell is absolutely Avatar: The Last Airbender. That show is in my bones. It’s one of the best examples of complete storytelling I’ve ever seen. And anybody who knows me knows that, of course, I’d be remiss not to mention Tolkien!
What’s something you wish you’d known when you started writing?
It doesn’t have to be perfect the first time. You can change your mind about the plot halfway through the first draft and it’ll be okay. You can write the scenes you feel like writing and fill in the blanks later; it’s always easier to connect the dots if those dots are already there.
Are you working on something right now?
I’m currently working on a text-based game about a group of Victorian ghost hunters. It’s been a lot of fun, as it’s my first real crack at interactive fiction and branching choices!
Want to see your art and/or writing featured here? Post a piece or two on the forum, or reach out to Battery with info on where we can find your work! We would genuinely love to feature any FGer who’s interested, no matter the subject or how active you are/were.
Well at first I didn’t know what the series was about but now that I read the summary I’m really interested of getting the book
