First and foremost…
DON’T HIT ME! I’M SORRY THIS CAME OUT LATE, I REALLY AM! 🙁
Zidan was furious. How could they possibly do this? Fowl would end up killing himself as well. He didn’t know about fairies, but humans certainly did care about their own lives. And Fowl was human. Maybe a traitor to their kind, but he was still born a human. Unless…
The Mud Man commander shook his head, scowling. That was not possible. He couldn’t be hybrid as well. Not Artemis. Too weak, too pathetic to be both human and fairy.
Zidan literally slapped himself. Think, for heaven’s sake. You are the one with the army, this is your building and right now you are holding all the winning cards. Fowl? What’s he got, four fairies and two humans? Indeed it was pathetic. Loken was the only one in Fowl’s team who was an actual challenge. And Loken was just one person.
He stood up firmly, sword in hand. Zidan understood how primitive it may be, but if Loken wanted a fair fight, that’s what he’d be getting.
“Mud men approaching,” whispered Silver. “They probably already know we’re here. Holly?”
The elf sighed. She didn’t want to die in a Mud Man establishment, of all things. “Alright,” said Holly, trying her most commanding tone. She grabbed the two pressure resistant suits off the thankfully low rack and shoved them at Silver. “Go. Piper and I will keep them distracted.”
The sprite/elf looked down at the suits, then at the two elves. Piper nodded, tight-lipped. “Go,” she said, placing a hand on her shoulder. “We’re LEP officers, we can handle a couple of humans.” She removed the hand and turned to Holly. The Captain shifted uneasily.
“Well, our weapons will last for another half an hour, at the most,” admitted Holly. “So save your bullets. We can hit them without guns. Silver?”
Silver nodded. “I get it, Holly. Nothing will happen to Artemis, not on my watch.”
Despite the situation, Piper couldn’t hold back a grin. There was the truth coming out, finally. Even Silver had realized. Holly noticed this look on her face before groaning and pushing past.
“Can we save the girl talk for later?”
