Okay! Another suckish songfic! My first in a while! Read, hate, and respond! Also, those of you who like dirty humor (like, REALLY dirty humor, not kidding) should read The Aztec Incident, on FanFiction.net.

“Holly? You there?”

Holly Short rolled off her bed, where she had been lying, and picked up her communicator. “Yes, I’m here, Artemis. What’s up?”

She pressed Video just in time to see her friend roll his eyes.

“Nothing is ‘up,’ Holly, except the ceiling. But my family would like to meet you.”

“Your family? I thought you only told your mother!”

“She told,” Artemis said slowly. “Don’t punch me.”

Holly sighed. “When?”

“Whenever you’re available.”

“Consider yourself lucky. It’s my day off.”

Artemis brightened. “Wonderful. How soon?”

“Two hours. Give or take a few minutes.”

Artemis grinned. “See you then.”

I hung up the phone tonight
Something happened for the first time
Deep inside it was a rush, what a rush

Artemis twisted his phone to it’s normal position, still smiling.

His mother strode in. “Have you called her yet, Arty?”

“Yes, Mother. She’ll be here in two hours.”

“Very good. I can’t wait to meet her.”

“I think you’ll like her.”

“I’m sure I’ll like her just as much as you do.”

But Artemis knew that wasn’t possible.

Cause the possibility
That you would ever feel the same way
About me, just too much, just too much

Holly was trying to pick an outfit.

I need something modest, but still me, that Artemis will like and his mother will be okay with.

She pulled out a pair of ripped skinnyjeans. So much for modest.

Pulling open a drawer, she dug through her few shirts, eventually deciding on a faded purple knee-length, triangle-sleeve top and matching cami. She belted it around her waist with a thick white strip of cloth, tied at the side.

Holly glanced in the mirror, running her fingers through her hair to spike it.

Time to fly.

Why do I keep running from the truth?
All I ever think about is you
You got me hypnotized, so mesmerized
And I just got to know

Artemis was pacing up and down in front of the door, and absentmindedly tugging at his black silk shirt and cotton slacks.

Ding-dong.

He nearly jumped out of his skin.

Running his hands over his hair to make sure it was arranged as it was supposed to be, he turned the handle and flung the door open.

An angel stood outside.

Well, a modern angel. One with short red hair and motorcycle boots.

Artemis knelt down, throwing his arms open. “Holly!”

She ran into his hug.

Do you ever think when you’re all alone
All that we can be, where this thing can go?
Am I crazy or falling in love?
Is it really just another crush?

Angeline Fowl walked up beside her son, smiling happily. “So this must be the Holly Short we’ve heard so much about.”

Holly extracted herself (with some difficulty) from Artemis’s embrace. Artemis turned, smile fading somewhat, and got up, dusting off his knees.

Holly shook Mrs. Fowl’s hand awkwardly. “Y-yes, ma’am. Captain Holly Short.” She saluted.

Artemis would have laid a hand on her shoulder, but he would have had to bend down. So he laid a hand on her head. She leaned back and snapped playfully at it.

“Would you like to meet my father, Holly?”

She hopped in mock frustration. “Oooooooh, you’re so formal! I don;t know whether to hit you or hug you!”

Artemis slyly winked. “I’d prefer a hug.”

Do you catch your breath when I look at you?
Are you holding back like the way I do?
Cause I’ve tried and tried to walk away
But I know this crush ain’t going away
Going away

Artemis Fowl I was ridiculously unperturbed at having another rational species in his house, as he confided to his son.

“It’s perfectly believable, in fact,” he was saying.

Holly popped her head in from the next room. “Arty, I need some help… Myles is beating me at chess.”

Artemis coughed into his sleeve. Then coughed again. And again. And again.

Holly narrowed her eyes. “Arty, I must be hearing things, because it sounds like you’re laughing. But you couldn’t be.”

Artemis fought down a grin. It was a losing battle. “Of course not, Holly dear,” he said in mock innocence. “I would never laugh at you.”

The elf crossed her arms. “I’m not your Holly dear,” she grumbled through a smile.

Has it ever crossed your mind
When we’re hanging, spending time girl?
Are we just friends? Is there more? Is there more?

As it happened, Artemis had only come to the chess game to watch Holly lose, and, afterward, to offer her lunch.

She winked at him. “No meat.”

“Of course not. Pizza?”

“Sure, knock yourself out.”

“Any topping preferences?”

Simultaniously, they said,

“No meat.”

Holly giggled. “Right. Can I help?” She strode over to the counter. “This might be difficult,” she observed, jumping up and down, trying to see over the granite.

“Would you like me to pick you up?” Artemis asked, his tone still unnervingly innocent.

“Don’t… you… dare!” she said between hops, shooting him a death glare.

“It was just an offer,” Artemis shrugged.

See it’s a chance we’ve gotta take
Cause I believe that we can make this into
Something that will last, last forever, forever

Artemis froze suddenly, left hand hovering over an onion. The reason was that Holly had just taken his right hand in hers, a look of consternation on her face.

“You’ve got a cut.”

Of course, Artemis berated himself silently. She would never hold your hand because she felt for you! Don’t be stupid.

Sparks traveled around the small graze on his hand, wiping it away. More were pulled up his arm and around his body, healing other wounds. Artemis’s head spun, and he staggered to a chair, fairy magic bringing out his emotions.

“Are you okay, Artemis?”

He realized he was crying. Stupid, stupid, stupid! Stupid!

Artemis wiped his eyes with the back of his hand. “Fine. Must be the sparks.”

“Healing’s never bothered you before.”

I hadn’t fallen for you before!

Do you ever think when you’re all alone
All that we could be, where this thing could go?
Am I crazy or falling in love?
Is it really just another crush?

“Am I going insane, Holly?”

Oh, great question. She’s really going to like you now.

Artemis sighed.

“I hope not,” Holly said, wrapping her arms around Artemis’s torso and squeezing. “Are you sure you’re okay?”

“No. But you’re here, that’s got to count for something.”

“I hope so.”

Do you catch your breath when I look at you?
Are you holding back like the way I do?
Cause I’ve tried and tried to walk away
But I know this crush ain’t going away
Going away

“Holly?”

“Yeeeees?”

“Are you and Trouble still…?” Oh, way to be obvious.

“No. Nothing past the first date. And even that was a bit of a fiasco.”

“Do I get any details?” Artemis inquired wryly.

“Goblins. Guns. ‘Nuff said.”

Artemis looked up and met her eyes, and he leaned forward. Now or never. “Well,” he whispered, “I’m glad you made it out.”

“Yeah,” Holly said, no louder than a breath, tilting her head slightly, “I’m gla–”

She didn’t finish because at that point Artemis’s lips met hers.

Why do I keep running from the truth?
All I ever think about is you
You got me hypnotized, so
mesmerized
And I just got to know

It lasted maybe fifteen seconds, but to Artemis it seemed like hundreds of heavenly hours. When they finally split, Holly’s face was red and they were breathing hard.

“I……”

Holly put a finger to Artemis’s lips. “Hush,” she breathed.

Do you ever think when you’re all alone
All that we could be, where this thing could go?
Am I crazy or falling in love?
Is it really just another crush?
Do you catch a breath when I look at you?
Are you holding back like the way I do?
Cause I’ve tried and tried to walk away
But I know this crush ain?t going away
This crush ain’t going away

Angeline walked into the kitchen. “Everything all right in here?”

“Yes, Mother,” said Artemis, standing up and winking at Holly. “Just making lunch.”

Oh man, that stank, didn’t it? Well, if you got this far… lollipops 4 U. O–

Wow, people actually liked it! I know this is my first in ages but I’m planning to get back in de groove this school season.

i don’t think it was at all bad. it was really good.
but i think that you should say what song it is so that we know what it sounds like, because you can’t tell if it’s fast or slow, which by the way makes it sound very odd inside ones head.
    FCD

  2. Oh O. M. G. That was AWESOME!!!! You could actully do a whole story of of this you know. (and I am begging you to do that!!) this gets like…. 100,000 stars and 10 cheesecakes!!!!!! This is Sooo going in my favorites right now!!! Update soon! 🙂 🙂 🙂 🙂 🙂

I thought it was really good!!! But I love the romancy stuff, so I’ll really read anything that’s A/H.

No mistakes, but I’m tired, so…

Could you divide the song from the story a bit more so it’s easier to read? That’s it, really…

    5/s

  4. Okay, I’ll work on it. The song is called “Crush” by David Archuleta. I usually name the fics after the song. Glad u like it!

  5. ILoveFowl your back!! 😀 Yay more people here!

It was so sweet and romancy, so it was somancy(not a real word)! No mistakes, I agree you should make it like bolder because while I was reading it I thought the song parts were what the were thinking.

5/T(tacos) I’m going to read that story you said. I like that liked of um…. Lets say jokes.

  6. Awesome! I was laughing almost the whole time, even though it was kind of romancy, it was still funny, which is an awesome combination! I haven’t read anything funny in a looooooooong time. So thank you for that!

I thought that Artemis and Holly were both just the tiniest bit OOC, but not too bad. I don’t think Holly’s style would be like that, but it sounds like a cute outfit, so I guess you can just go for it and leave it.

Aaaaaamazing job! 5 shiny stars for you! Yay, more people are coming back!

  7. Yeah, sorry I was gone so long! I forgot how nice the people here are. I love you all.

Can’t wait for AFcrazy15 to come back. I’m sure we all miss her.

  8. AF15 is long gone. She probs wun come back for quite a while. Shame. I liked her stories. Meh. I’ve got gore and songfics to wrtie!! *poofs*

*poofs back* So yeah, the fic was good, but I dun do mushy stuff. You can see from my collection of deathfics. I think the song went pretty well, and I’ll give 5 partially cuz I’m a A/H shipper.

    *poofs*

  9. I shipped so many pairings back in the old days… A/H was my top one. And now?

… Slash. Slash or nothing. XD. I can’t read het anymore. I just CAN’T. A bit pathetic of me, mm?

I can tell you’ve improved, though. *sniffs* You’ve grown so much! Sweet, cute, fluffy. Some sentences sounded awkwardly worded or out of place, like, “But Artemis knew that wasn’t possible.” Consider more (*puts on “annoying teacher” hat*) showing, not telling! XD.

For example, “Artemis smiled wryly. He doubted it.”

  10. Slash is okay in moderation, but really? WAY OOC for our poor, “innocent” Arty.

@FowlFan4Ever–I don’t really like cheesecake. Try Chocolate 😉

@TungstenMessiah–Interesting name. I LOVE your work.

    @WE–Luv U. Missed U. I’ll fix it.

  11. ILoveFowl-

Have I mentioned yet that you are one of my FAVORITE authors? It was great!

  12. Awwwww! You’re so sweet! I’ll try to keep it up. <3 Wuvs U in a totally non-stalkerish way. 🙂

  13. awww so cheesy………
but cool. it would be awesome without the song

Let’s do this. I’m going to invade all of your spam and tell you to stop, girl (I’m assuming that you’re a girl). Add constructive criticism to your comments and at least try to make them plausible. I know you’re new, but I can’t stand this. And stop being so rude. ~WE
