I wouldn’t let him see the tears rolling down my cheeks. I wouldn’t let him see the pain in my eyes. I wouldn’t let him see me slowly breaking.
“Raine,” he said softly. “Don’t cry. Please. You know it’s for the best.”
I glared at him. “I hate you, Turnball Root. Stay out of my life you b-”

“Sorry? If you value my sanity do not tell me your sorry.”

He lets out a groan of agony as my fist connects with the side of his face.
“What was that for?”
“For leaving me! For leaving me and going off with her.“
He turns away. Leaving me alone once more.
