Vinyaya, your wish is my command!! I wrote my first Vinyaya/Root romance! I’m stopping “The Breakup” story for a while. I was in a serious writers block when I wrote that! It was a crappy story with a crappy storyline.
I’ve been working on this story for months. I finally published it! I know your thinking “Dammit girl, months for this one short story?” But what I mean by ‘working on it’ I mean, it’s been in my head for months! Please enjoy.
Julius Root was totally smitten with the girl in the dorm across from his, Vinyaya. They had known each other for almost three years, ever since they first started at the LEP academy. Due to the fact that he was in Recon and she was in Wing, they barely ever saw each other. Only at lunch in the cafeteria, in the halls, and at the occasional assembly. Root was always doing his best to get her to notice him.
Today had been an especially bad day for Julius. He had fallen into Vinyaya while trying to open the door for her, dropped her books, and stumbled through an invitation to a coffee meet.
At lunch, Julius sat with his best friend, Briar Cudgeon. “Isn’t she beautiful, Briar?” he said, staring at Vinyaya. He absent-mindedly spilled his peas down his uniform. “D’ Arvit!”
“You can have her. I’m checkin’ out my own piece of work. ” replied Briar.
Julius glanced at his friend. He followed his gaze. He was staring at Milani Cari, another Wing hopeful.
“Put your eyes back in your head, Briar.”
Cudgeon sighed but his eyes remained glued to Milani’s curves.
Root looked back at his crush. Her auburn hair rippled behind her as she passed by Root’s table. He melted completely.
The more he looked at Vinyaya, the more he liked her. The more he liked her, the more he wanted her to like him back. There must be a way for me to get her to notice.
Vinyaya walked down the street, clutching her mace can. She wasn’t taking any chances; this was one of the roughest streets in Haven, and she was still a long way from the Academy. That’s when she made her mistake.
Vinyaya decided to take a shortcut. She looked around, and pulled the hood of her jacket over her face. She turned and headed down a small side alley. Suddenly, a hairy arm swung out of the darkness and hit her in the side of the head. She was knocked out cold.
Vinyaya regained consciousness slowly. Her whole body ached, and there was a large lump where the arm had hit her. She forced herself to sit up. She was in a small room. It was completely bare, and there were no windows. The only occupants besides herself were a broken crate, an old office chair, and a few buckets. The only door, she presumed, was bolted up tight. This theory was confirmed when she shoved all of her thirty pounds against the steel portal. It stayed closed, sturdy and strong.
After deducing that there was no way out, she decided that the only way she was going to get out was by screaming as loud as she could. So she did.
“Help!!! Get me out!!” she yelled at the top of her lungs. After about five minutes of screaming similar things, her voice was cracking. Finally, the rusty steel door opened. A bulky elf stood in the doorway.
“Do you females ever shut up??” he growled, and pinned her arms behind her back. She kicked him hard in the shins, but to no avail. He forced her out of the room and into the main warehouse.
The warehouse was a large room, stacked to the ceiling in some places with crates and barrels. There a group of hairy, rough-looking gnomes and elves unloading and loading various wares (probably stolen). There was even a centaur doing, what looked like to Vinyaya, hotwiring a sports car.
The large elf lead her across the room. There was a commotion in the corner and a few gnomes pulled out a reddening Julius Root.
“We caught puny over here spying on us.” said one of the gnomes.
“Julius, what are you doing here?” Vinyaya cried.
“I heard you screaming and decided to come and help you.” he lied.
“Hey, Root, hand over the dough.” said a tiny pixie, obviously the head. He stepped forward and held out his hand.
“What are you talking about?” said Julius Root.
“You know what I’m talking about, elf! Hand over the dough.” repeated the pixie. The gnome holding Root dropped him.
“Julius, what is he talking about?” asked Vinyaya, growing suspicious.
“Your boyfriend over here paid us to capture you.” growled the fairy.
Vinyaya kicked her captor in between the legs. The elf crumpled and let go of her. She strode over to her admirer. “Julius, is this true?”
Root hung his head. “Yes, it is. I paid them to kidnap you and then I’d come and save you. Then maybe you’d like me.” he said, growing red in the face. The he spotted the lump on her head. “Idiots, I told you not to hurt her!”
“Oh, Julius! You didn’t need to do that. I already liked you.” said Vinyaya.
“Really?” said Root, growing even redder.
Vinyay kissed him gently. “Really really.” she replied.
One of the pixies in the crowd gagged. “Elf love.” he groaned. The elf that was holding Vinyaya punched him in the face.
