I heard a song i like on my iPod by Dave Nachmanoff that reminded me of Artemis Fowl. I’m not too great at writing tragedy and songfics, but it’s nice to write something different once in a while right? I didn’t get all the words, but I tried my best.

I hope there wasn’t any pain,

Holly’s eyes filled with tears. She sniffled as she blinked them away. She remembered his last words… “Be well.” She was trying to, she really was. But she wasn’t. Life wasn’t the same without him. True, he did have his problems, but didn’t everyone?

You had an easy kind of laughter,

Some people always see the dark side,

But that never was your style.

She chucked grimly. Okay, maybe not an easy kind of laughter. But you didn’t have to have a good sense of humor to be a cop.

A salty tear fell onto Holly’s lap. She felt her cheeks. Both were wet. The tears were flowing freely now. The most painful part about his death was the fact that she wasn’t doing a very good job respecting his last words. If only she could try to be well, like he said.

And though you had no sons or daughters,

Your spirit’s shining in the People,

Look at how those seeds have grown.

Everyone in the LEP loved and respected him. Even if he did have a bad temper. Most who you inspired have grown you be good officers, she thought. Like Trouble Kelp. If only you could see how you have inspired them all.

Said you didn’t want us crying,

Or feeling sad when you were gone,

Now we’re singing and celebrating,

Your love and laughter carry on.

She held her head in her hands. Her shoulders shook and the tears leaked through her fingers. She still couldn’t believe he was gone forever. Forever. It sounded like such a long and horrible thing. She wiped the tears from her eyes but they were quickly replaced with fresh ones. If only he could be here now. If she could see him again, she’d tell him how the People really did respect him. How they did mourn his passing. If she could see him again.
