This Is a poem i wrote of the Irish mastermind and of his life( because it is filled with danger)
HOPE YOU LIKE IT:
To be, or not to be: that is the question: Whether ’tis nobler in the mind to suffer The slings and arrows of outrageous fortune, Or to take arms against a sea of troubles, And by opposing end them? To die: to sleep; No more; and by a sleep to say we end The heart-ache and the thousand natural shocks That flesh is heir to, ’tis a consummation Devoutly to be wish’d. To die, to sleep; To sleep: perchance to dream: ay, there’s the rub; For in that sleep of death what dreams may come When we have shuffled off this mortal coil, Must give us pause: there’s the respect That makes calamity of so long life; For who would bear the whips and scorns of time, The oppressor’s wrong, the proud man’s contumely, The pangs of despised love, the law’s delay, The insolence of office and the spurns That patient merit of the unworthy takes, When he himself might his quietus make With a bare bodkin? who would fardels bear, To grunt and sweat under a weary life, But that the dread of something after death, The undiscover’d country from whose bourn No traveller returns, puzzles the will And makes us rather bear those ills we have Than fly to others that we know not of? Thus conscience does make cowards of us all; And thus the native hue of resolution Is sicklied o’er with the pale cast of thought, And enterprises of great pith and moment With this regard their currents turn awry, And lose the name of action. - Soft you now! The fair Ophelia! Nymph, in thy orisons Be all my sins remember’d.

Huh? What is this stuff? Hey! Did you plagerise Shakespere?
April 6th, 2008 at 10:24 pm
Did you really think that you could get away with plagiarizing the most famous soliloquy in the world?
This is kind of ridiculous. Shakespeare’s writing is very easily recognized. People dispute about whether or not some scenes in plays are written by him because of slight variations in the style, you think that you can pretend that you wrote this?
Even if you took away the fame of Hamlet somebody would recognize it based entirely on style.
Somebody of your age and your time period couldn’t dream of writing something that Shakespeare did.
I don’t know whether to laugh or to cry.
Please take this down.

Not to mention that this has nothing to do with Artemis Fowl whatsoever. Honestly. Even if this wasn’t by Shakespere, you can’t just put “Artemis Fowl” in front of something like this and call it fanfiction.;)

firstly I don’t get it and second if what they are saying is true then your in hot water buddy!
April 6th, 2008 at 11:20 pm
did you really think no one would notice this? SHAKESPEARE wrote it. and seeing how a lot of people on arty fowl fangathering have read hamlet or seen it, there’s no way you could have ever gotton away with this. this is an insult to Artemis Fowl and to Hamlet!

btw you didnt even change the name opheilia to holly or minerva! geez!

I apologize, but you honestly thought that “To Be or Not to be” wouldn’t be recognized? You thought you could pass the work of the greatest writer on earth as your own? You used the name of a character (Ophelia)!
I mean, even if you used an obscure passage from one of Shakespeare’s lesser known page, People would notice if you stole it.
Did you think this was funny? Did you want to see how many people would notice? What could have possibly gone through your head when you posted this? You could have said “Hey, I read this somewhere and it reminds me of artemis” or “Doesn’t this sound like Artemis?” Even though it has nothing to do with Artemis Fowl.
You can’t just take someone else’s work, someone else who happens to be a better writer than anyone who has ever lived, and put “Artemis Fowl” at the beginning of it and pretend it’s fanfiction that you wrote.
Not to mention the fact that your description of this shows absolutely no comprehension of the text whatsoever. It has nothing to do with danger. Not even a little bit. He’s conflicted about a choice he has to make. Artemis is usually quick to make choices, so there’s no reason to apply this to him.
I was thinking about deleting this, but I feel like I would rather leave you to the mercy of the other Shakespeare-Loving users of the archive while I advocate your banning like crazy to the other editors.
And for the record, this isn’t flaming. I have not attacked the user or the story (who would attack our beloved bard?), but I have expressed my disappointment.

Well said, everyone. Artemisthegreat is now permanently banned. Don’t expect updates on any of his other stories; they’ll be deleted in due course.
This archive will NOT tolerate plagarism, as you can see by BlackOpal and P5YCHIC’s comments (the three of us are editors, among others). Plagarism is not only against our rules, but also against common decency. It’s utterly immoral to claim credit for someone else’s hard work.
This ’story’ will be left up as a warning to anyone who thinks it’s OK to plagarize.
On the bright side, it makes me laugh that there’s someone who thinks he can get away with plagarizing the most famous writer in existence.

OMG!What an idiot, who in there right mind would think that they can get away with plagarizing Shakespeare! Also how is it even to do with Artemis Fowl, I don’t recal Artemis conteplating suicide!

AND A THIRD MESSAGE, I DON’T CONSIDER SHAKESPEARE AS A GREAT PLALYWRIGHT(NO OFFENSE TO YOU PEOPLE, WHO LOVE SHAKESPEARE AND HIS monologue. i consider shakespeare as a bad playwright(his monologues dont hold a great effect, no offense) i consider the 17th century johann wolfgang von Goethe, the great german philosopher, playwright, poet and engineer as the best. his monolgues are very deep and hold much ifluence for me.

* to black opal*
first of all, the age and time period thing was a really big insult. THis time period(though it is economically corrupted) is an extremely intelligent period in anthropology, science and technology. THis time period is very influetial and holds many geniuses and polymaths(in some places) trust me, you would KNOW if you were me. I have met a great polymath, architect and philosopher ( Edmond Gregoris Harry) he is studying metaphysics and you cant imagine what he has theorized about aand done (seriously) plus any and handful of great playwrights. PLus, im 13( but im a master at copying a writers style, i didnt copy him but icould with a little work, easily. ive copyed other geniuses ( for FUN). And im not as STUPID as you think, i could bet my life ive read more philosophy, literature, an science books than you( i practically do it every day, when im bored, and im bored all of the time, except when im on fanfiction.)
NOte: NO OFFENSE TO ANY ONE, and please im not guilty.
April 8th, 2008 at 1:59 am
Not guilty? If you’ve let your brother get ahold of your password, that’s just too bad for you. Someone using your computer has been giving us a great deal of trouble, and the evidence is against you. We’re sorry if it’s your brother’s fault, but rules are rules.
And it doesn’t matter how smart you are (and your comments seem to indicate the opposite, honestly), you cannot break our rules. And each of your four comments does. For one thing, you cannot insult others here- that alone is enough to get you banned.
Please do not try to comment here again. You will only make the other readers suffer as we take measures to prevent you from commenting (such as disabling guests from reviewing stories).
If you have proof that this had nothing to do with you, or some other argument, you can email me at bibliophile17@gmail.com .
April 8th, 2008 at 2:23 am
I did not insult this time period. Shakespeare’s time period has a different style of English that is very distinct and easy to distinguish from out own.
This isn’t serious because nobody could possibly get away with it.
Anyway, I agree with MMK. You should prevent your brother from getting your password if that is the case.
April 9th, 2008 at 2:41 am
I know that I am just kind of butting in here but don’t you think it is a little suspicious that he is defending his brother who got him banned? And that is starting to try to write like the Shakespeare thing above? I know, I know, Shut-up Jelly but still….
April 9th, 2008 at 3:19 am
Thanks for sharing your concerns, but we’ve handled it. Artemisthegreat is banned, so there’s no need for further discussion.
To everyone: Please do not comment here- it’s just to look at.
