Hi! This is my first attempt at a humor fic! Go easy on the reviews, but crit is VERY much appreciated. Happy reading!
“Come on!” Holly begged, attempting to flutter her eyelashes, but failed miserably. Seduction was not one of her strong points. “I promise you, Artemis will never find out!”
Butler groaned inwardly. This was not proving to be pleasant at all. He should have known something was up the second Holly and Minerva turned up at Fowl Manor trying to get him drunk and drugging Artemis and hiding him in a closet. True, he did promise to come to the faries’ aid whenever they needed it, but this was honestly too much.
“Why can’t you do it yourselves?” Butler asked.
“Well, duh. It’s because we need someone to stand guard Artemis to make sure he doesn’t find out!” Minerva chided. And since you’re his manservant, he won’t get suspicious if you follow him around. Just act twice as paranoid as usual!”
Butler was a bit miffed. Paranoid? Him? Minerva caught his wary expression and sighed.
“Butler. How can you not call having keypads, infra-red cameras, and fingerprint scanners in the kitchen, balcony, and bathrooms paranoid? And I refuse to believe that the heat-sensitive land mines under the rug was neccesary” Holly suppressed a laugh.
“Anyway, that’s beside the point. I refuse to-” Butler started.
“Butler! Would you care to explain why I’m currently locked in a broom closet right now?” A faint voice called from a closet.
“R-right away, Artemis” Butler stood, giving Holly and Minerva a disapproving look and sighed in resignation. “Fine…but if Artemis finds out…”
“Don’t worry! We’ll take care of it!” Holly gave Butler the thumbs-up, which somehow made Butler even more nervous than he should have been.
“Butler! My paitence is limited!” Artemis called. As Butler went to fetch his keys, Holly and Minerva shared a mischevious grin.
They got busy the rest of the afternoon while Artemis was stalled by Butler.

So far, I’m intrigued. I can’t wait to read the next chapter, and find out why Minerva and Holly drugged Artemis…
The only part I disliked was, “He should have known something was up the second Holly and Minerva turned up at Fowl Manor and drugged Artemis and hid him in a closet.” It’s kind of rushed, and wouldn’t Butler stop the girls from drugging his principle unless they had a VERY good reason?

Same as songfic_freak. Butler wouldn’t let anyone come near Artemis with a glass of something he didn’t make.

Hmm…good point. But I had to add that in for comic relief, but I’ll try to think of that in future chapters. But this is my first humor fic, and characters are usually OOC in them…

hmmm kinda confusing, but since its like the first chapter, i bet theres more to come and everything will make sense. pretty good job i liked it!! i really wasnt to hung up on the artemis getting drugged, because its not like holly hasnt outsmarted butler before, rite? and with crapnerva with her, it could only be to easy. i liked it but i really didnt see the humor in it. keep up the work it was really good!! cant wait to see the rest!
