Artemis sat back in his chair and steepled his fingers. All was going well. The family fortune was stable, his parents were happy and getting used to him being back, the world was not in jeopardy for once Artemis thought.

Suddenly, Artemis realised something. I need to get a project. I’m too bored to sit around all day doing nothing.

He turned on his fairy communicator,

“Holly?”

“Yes Artemis, I’m kind of busy at the…the” Holly’s voice trailed off.

“Holly what’s going on? What’s happening?”

“Can’t talk now Artemis,” She was interrupted by a boom. ” Sorry Artemis, I’ll call you later, gotta go, bye”

“Holly! HOLLY!” Artemis called into the communicator. She’s in trouble. It sounded like a firefight.

He hacked into Foaly’s computer and saw Holly’s video feed from her iris-cam. Holly and another officer were shooting at a group of demons who had got hold of some Neutrino 2000s and were trying to shoot their way into a bar. In LEMT (Lower Elements Mean Time) it was 1:30 am. the sign on the bar said 6 till 12. These demons were obviously drunk.

Holly and the officer were doing well, they had already got 2 demons down, 3 to go.

He heard Holly and the officer speaking through their helmet mikes to each other’s earpieces.

“Holly, remind me again why there isn’t any back up.” said the officer.

“Because Trouble , the back up are asleep and it’s just us because we were the only officers doing late night paperwork.” replied Holly as she dodged a burst from the smallest demon.

“D’Arvit.” moaned Trouble as a burst hit him in the chest, knocking him out in seconds.

Butler came in. Artemis explained the problem.

Butler collected some fairy lasers from the weapons room and went to Artemis’s latest invention. It was a matter-transporter or to put it simpler, a teleporter. Artemis picked up the small sphere and typed in a code. Once he voiced his destination, the sphere gave him 5 seconds for him and Butler to brace themselves, and it transported them to Holly’s side to help.

“Artemis?! Butler?!What the-” Holly cried.

“Tell you later, we’ve got some work to do”

Artemis started shooting fast and without even concentrating properly. Round after round he, Butler and Holly shot into the demons until they were all lying on the floor, snoring.

“Artemis, Butler, how did you get here? How did you know what was happening? How did you know where to go? How did-” Holly babbled.

“We’ll tell you when these demons are locked up and we’re in Police Plaza.” said Butler.
