Christmas Eve- Holly and troubles’ appartment

“Good morning holly!” said Major Trouble Kelp

“Good morning to you to!” said holly smiling and rubbing her eyes.Wow thought holly, they were really serious when they decided to make it look and feel like winter in haven. Through the curtains she could see beautiful snow falling on the grey pavements - the light was almost blinding. She rolled over towards trouble looking deep into his eyes.  They were a beautiful teal colour and everytime she saw them she felt like she was falling into a large deep pool of water - only not like she was drowning, no , she loved it in there.

“So the guests will be arriving at lunch time holly-we better get cooking and cleaning!”

“Guests? what guests?” It took a second before holly remembered. It was christmas eve. She had invited her freinds over for christmas. Originally they had been coming over for christmas only but now they were comin for 2 days! She could hardly wait.

“Oh yeah! - I’ll just pop into the shower and then we can set about getting the spare rooms ready.”

 ”Well make it quick hols cause we have a lot of work to do!”

” I know ,I know, I won’t be a second. While i am showering maybe you could start with the bathrooms? The toilets really need cleaned.”

“I love it when you’r bossy. said Trouble and he took holly in his arms and kissed her passionatley.He ran his hands through her hair and stroaked her cheek. And I love you to holly.”

“Good. said holly. And I suppose I love you to.” she said smiling.

Two and a half hours later Holly and Touble flopped down on the sofa and then jummped right back up again when Holy shouted “No! not the nice clean sofa!” They walked back in to their room and Holly went into their en-suite bathroom and had her second shower of theÂday. When she came back in Trouble was standing in his new jeans and sweater that holly had bought him and was smilling fit to burst. On the bed was a very small package.

“Early christmas present.” said Trouble

Holly walked over to the bed and picked up the mysterious package inside she pulled out a beautiful emerald green necklace on a silver chain. “Oh. It’s beautiful! she said although deep down she felt a twinge of dissapointment that it hadn’t been a ring in there. Don’t be stupid. she thought. Why would he propose now? We have only been going out for a few months. Put it on me? she asked and walked over to him handing him the necklace. He took it and then placed it round her neck, resisting the urge to kiss her again with great difficulty. “It’s a shame I don’t have anything green to wear with it though!” she said grinning as she opened a wardrobe full of green skirts, tops and trousers.

“I’ll go and check the lunch.” he said and walked out of the room leaving holly to decide on something appropriate to go with her new necklace.

The doorbell rang and she walked into the kitchen and took his hand.” That’ll be them!” she said happily and she raced down the stairs to greet Foaly, Caballine, Chix Verbil, Lili Frond, No1, Qwan and Grub Kelp. ” Hi!”she said happily hugging them all in turn and then guiding them up into the appartment.

Everyone came in and Holly took them to their rooms so they could put down their things and then everyone came into the living room. Then Trouble brought in some lunch for everyone. “You know what?”said foaly reaching for another carrot.

“What?”said holly.

“Well this is all very strange but it feels like something is missing. Artemis.”

” I know.” said holly looking pleadingly at trouble.

“Oh alright then but where will he sleep?”said trouble.

“sofa bed?”

“Not sure what little Arty will think of that,but you can ask him.” Holly scampered over to him and punched him playfully in the arm.

“Thankyou!”she said as she went into their bedroom to phone artemis.

Fowl Manor

Artemis Fowl was just reading a small scribbled christmas card from his twin younger brothers Miles and Beckett when his fairy communicator rang. He hustled his brothers out ofhis bedroom thanking them breifly and then closed the door. He then walked over to his bed and sat down on it pressing the red button on his phone disguised as a rather ostentatious ring. “Holly?”said the Irish boy.

“Hey artemis, I was just calling to see If you want to come down to our place for christmas?”

” My parents are taking a year off from christmas at a spa in Italy so I supose it could be arranged yes.” he said smilling his vampire-like grin.

“Great! Bring Butler and Minerva if you like, it will be a bit of a squash but we will all be ok!”

“Good. I will see you soon Holly, 10 o’clock tonight.OK?”

“Yes mud-boy. see you soon!”

“Bye Holly!”

Holly and Troubles’ appartment 10 o’clock

The doorbell rang and Holly went down to get it. On the doorstep were Artemis, Butler and Minerva.”Hello!” she said warmly and ushered them inside hugging them all breifly but tightly and  leading them up to the living room. No1 and Qwan had gone to bed but everyone else was up and waiting for the others to arrive when they cam in everyone smiled and hugged and then people started going to bed so as to be fresh for the morning. Once everyone was settled into their beds Holly and Trouble snuggled into their’s then holly got up to get herslf some water.As she reached into the back of the cupboard she found a small box she picked it up out of the cupboard and turned around. Suddenly Trouble raced into the room.

“Holly!”he said staring at the box in her hands. Then he came over to her and took the box from her hands. Then he knelt down on one knee. Holly gasped, tears running down her cheeks. “Holly?, Will you marry me?”

Holly hesitated drying her tears on her sleeve.”Yes.”
