warning: bad language in really needed places!
Shaadia didn’t know how to fly a shuttle.
YET, the stubborn kid had convinced Foaly that she had experience. Which was a total, unforgivable, dangerous life-risking lie.
Because she pushed the self destruct button thinking it would switch on the TV and ten minutes later, the room was filled with warlocks trying to cure the passengers.
‘You nearly got me killed!” spluttered Artemis.
“Sorry,” said Shaadia innocently, an angelic smile pasted on her face, lower lip stuck out. “But hey, you can’t blame me. that stupid button had the word SD on it.”
“Self Destruct,” pointed out the Mud Boy.
“SD is the brand of the frond damn TV screen!”
The plan had gone disastrously wrong. Silver had pulled it off successfully, but she had got tranquilized afterwards and the other two elves were helpless against the majority of Mud Men still left alive. And taken for interrogation, but not before meeting their leader, Zidan Collision.
Loken was injured. Badly. Holly cringed at seeing him like this. She had thought he was strong, indestructible. How did Zidan manage this?
A sudden memory flashed across her mind.
“I promise,” whispered Artemis, taking her hand in his. “This war will come to an end and I will see that it does.”
He wasn’t here. She had ordered him to stay back, to stay safe. But what when the People lost this fight?
“I will ensure our victory, Holly.”
Holly forced back the tears forming in her eyes. No, they were not losing. They were not losing to this maniac. She gave a disgusted look at Zidan.
He grinned, yanking Loken by the thick, dark hair. “Is this your team?” he spat. “Give me a break.” Dropping the helpless elf to the floor, Zidan walked briskly towards Holly, piper and Silver, who were already cornered by more Mud men than they could handle, weapons already taken. The Human Commander was now close, closer than she would’ve liked. He laid on cruelly sharp fingernail under her chin. “You’re quite the pretty one, aren’t you?’ he snickered. “But alas, an elf. A lowlife. Do you believe having magic at your disposal is going to make you superior to Humankind? Is that what you believe?”
“HANDS OFF HER, YOU SON OF A BITCH!”
Zidan turned slowly, mildly shocked at seeing Loken alive, and standing. But more caught his attention. In both of the elf’s hands, he tightly gripped the swords of both himself and his nemesis. Loken treated him to deep scowl, bleeding jaw visible.
“You will not survive for longer, Mud man,” he said. “And I believe you will be outsmarted by one of your own kind.”
Holly’s eyes widened, falling upon the communicator on Loken’s belt. It was switched on and had just one sentence on the screen.
Artemis Fowl shall arrive shortly.
I will update this and add a second chapter when I have more time. Till then, please review!
