“Fools,” grinned Zidan, as he watched them enter (cameras courtesy of Minerva Paradizo). “This makes it more obvious than it’s ever been. Once this war is over, humans shall reign supreme.”
He turned to face his men. “After all, it’s four against…”
Fourteen thousand voices yelled a cry of battle.
Not even Loken would beat him this time.
“Shaadia, this is the most ridiculous idea I have ever heard,” said Artemis. “No, I do not wish to imitate Loken and go out there looking like an idiot.”
“That second part was not part of my plan!” protested Shaadia. “Besides, think about it. Why do you think Holly likes him?”
Artemis sighed. “He’s physically gifted-”
“You are too.”
“Good looking.” Artemis paused. “I don’t have any of them.”
“That, Arty, is exactly why we want you to–”
“It isn’t going to change anything!”
“The armor is cool,” argued the kid. “So if you get into it, you’ll look cool as well.”
Artemis groaned. “I look ridiculous in that armor, as you call it. Where’s Foaly?”
“He went to prepare a shuttle for us.”
The human stared.
“I’m coming with you,” continued Shaadia. She hugged Cheeta around the neck. “Hear that Boy? We’re gonna totally kick butt!” The animal purred in satisfaction.
