Holly’s hand trembled as she wrote the note, the pen splattering ink all over her clothes as she shook it. It apologized to Artemis for not being there when his daughter was born, and to Grub for letting his brother get killed by a goblin. The letter also expressed her remorse for letting Beckett lose his right eye when she was piloting a shuttle into the fowl yard and pice of shrapnel peirced his eye when it crashed. As Holly sealed the envelope, she thought about her mistakes in life… So horrible.Nothing she could do.

As Holly Short looked up to the sky above earth for the last time as  black clouds rolled over the clear blue sky, and enveloped her in a sea of rain. She pressed the cold metal to her temple and took a deep breath.

The loud bang was the only thing that signified Holly Short’s passing from the world.That and the small thud as she hit the earth.
