Loading ...That night, Artemis convinced Butler that he didn’t need a bodyguard for this occasion. He hailed a cab and gave the driver the directions. While he sat in the back seat, his cell phone vibrated. He checked the ID and sighed in exasperation.
It was Minerva.
…Again.
She had called him ten times and left six text messages this week. Artemis jabbed TALK with his thumb.
“Hello?”
“Is this Arty?” Minerva’s voice crackled through the speaker.
“No, it’s Artemis,” Artemis corrected her flatly.
“Oh, hi Arty,” Minerva replied, much to Artemis’s annoyance. “I was just calling to see how you were doing.”
“Minerva, isn’t it midnight where you are?” Artemis rolled his eyes.
“Er…Yes, but I’m up late working on a project…Artemis, remember that I lov-”
“Go to sleep,” Artemis instructed, pressing END. He took a deep breath. Minerva’s love confessions were getting more and more irritating. Besides, he had another girl on his mind…
The taxi stopped.
…And she was standing outside the car, waiting for him.

I like writing this story. It’s happy and lighthearted. The next chapter, there’s going to be a romantic pool scene. I’m thinking a bungalow with sliding glass doors that lead to a flagstone patio, complete with a little bar, an outdoor pool, and lanterns that light up at night. The pool is kidney shaped and has lights in the walls so that it glows at night. First kiss moment perhaps…?
