Romance in Italy…?

Loading ...Artemis was sitting in a quiet cafe in Tuscany, Italy, enjoying the scenery.
Butler sat beside him, as always, and squinted suspiciously at any passerby. Artemis had insisted that a bodyguard was no longer needed, as he had been staying out of trouble recently, but butler wouldn’t have it. He knew he woul be kept awake at night wondering just how many asassins were after the young Fowl lately.
Artemis’s peace was disrupted when behind him a young girl broke into a fight with a waiter.
“What do you MEAN you don’t have our table?” She cried. “I reserved it already!”
“Siete in ritardo,” The waiter explained briefly. You are late.
“That’s impossible! I’m exactly on time!” The girl insisted furiously. “Check the list again!”
“No, no. Siete in ritardo,“ The waiter repeated. Then he turned on his heel and shuffled off to serve another customer.
As Artemis and Butler looked on, the girl seethed for a moment before yelling “Si idiota!” You idiot! and stimping out the door. outside the window, the girl met up with a young couple. She quickly explained something, gesturing towards the door of the restaurant. Her companions looked shocked, and the young man looked ready to march in and confront the server, but the woman beside him laid a hand on his shoulder and spoke a few words. Together the three walked down the street and out of sight.
“That was interesting,” Artemis commented, trying to sound bored. But really, he was intrigued by this pretty young girl with the firey temper. Perhaps he would see her again…

I like writing this story. It’s happy and lighthearted. The next chapter, there’s going to be a romantic pool scene. I’m thinking a bungalow with sliding glass doors that lead to a flagstone patio, complete with a little bar, an outdoor pool, and lanterns that light up at night. The pool is kidney shaped and has lights in the walls so that it glows at night. First kiss moment perhaps…?
