A “special” Auntie
Y’ know the girl with the red hair didn’t seem that bad, compared to the rest of them.” Holly said. She and Trouble had been talking about the Marshells since Ilene had announced she’d invited them over for dinner but she’d not told them about her surprise visitor. Ilene had been cleaning the house all day and had forced Trouble to wear a suit- he got off lightly.
Holly was wearing a white dress which was “inspired by a classic ball gown.” and (of course) had a large blue bow.
The Marshells arrived and poured into the dinning room.
“Cool , you’ve got two pools.” Katie- the girl with red hair they’d been talking about- said.
“Kate, be quiet.” she snapped which roughly translated into “Katie if you do not sit down and act pretty then I will kill you.”
“Dinner will be ready in two minutes.” Ilene said almost instantly after that there was a knock on the door.
“I invited your Aunt Isabella round, she has a surprise…” Ilene never got to finish because Trouble had darted at lightning speed out the room. His father caught up with him.
“Don’t even think about jumping off the roof.” he said dragging him back in.
“How did you.. WAIT why not?” Trouble began.
“I knew because I wanted to do the same thing and you can’t because if anyone gets to get out of this it should be me!”
“Ha! She doesn’t let me in her house!” Trouble replied.
“She kept telling your mother NOT to marry me, as she was walking down the bloody aisle- beat that.” his father replied.

He went out where his mother and Grub were running up to his Aunt, a greedy, hideous, filthy rich woman from Atlantis. Whose pet hate was her eldest nephew and favourite thing to do was make his life as miserable as possible. Who always wore lime green suits and an oversized hat.
“Grubby angel!” she screamed not in a “I’m so happy to see you” way but in a “headmaster ranting on” way. In fact this was the was she said EVERYTHING. She lifted Grub up and hugged him so hard he couldn’t breathe suddenly Trouble was glad his Aunt didn’t like him.
“Where’s your…?” Ilene began to ask.
“Divorced.” she replied.
“Wonder why!” Trouble thought.
“Get my bags boy!” she snapped at Trouble. She never called him by his name at best he was “Grub’s brother.” or “boy” at worse…
He went to lift the colossal hand bag when his Aunt tried to trip him up and gritted her teeth when he didn’t fall. They went inside and he and Holly were dragging the bag.
“She’s a witch!” Holly said.
“You know why the court lets her get divorced every few months? It’s because the law is there to protect those who can’t do it themselves. I mean imagine spending EVERY day with her?”
When Trouble went back downstairs he wanted to run back up. His parents were there with Grub, plus the Marshelles and their collection of tidy children plus the I-wish-we-could-say-you-were-adopted one Katie, His Aunt and her friend- who also HATED Trouble.
“Look it’s your fan club.” Holly whispered.
He was lucky enough to be sitting between his Dad and Holly, unlucky enough to be across from his Aunt.
As he sat down Ilene instantly went into conversation. Every so often his Aunt would interrupt.
“Ilene, I’ve.. Well David has your tickets.” his Aunt said.
“Tickets? Ilene what’ve you done…” his father began.
“David here got us and the Marshelles tickets for the new cruise-stimulator.” Ilene said when David suddenly fell out of his chair.

“THIS IS A DISASTOR! How inconsiderate-taking a heart attack during dinner!” Ilene was thinking as her husband called the ambulance for David.
As Ilene sat and fumed and the Marshelles children sat bored stiff Trouble was given the task of TRYING to miraculous get David’s heart to be suddenly healthy.
“Work faster! I thought you were athletic, what are you doing wrong boy?” his Aunt said as she kicked him.
“What am I meant to do? Give him my heart? “ he snapped.
“If it would work!” his Aunt said.
“That’s what I love about you- always thinking about your family! I‘ll be so glad when you leave” Trouble replied.
“Who said anything about leaving? For that attitude I just might decided to stay to next summer!” she yelled even louder than usual.
“I don’t think her house can support that much weight for that long.” he replied still trying to get her friends heart to start working.
“Why not? It can take the weight of your mouth!” his Aunt snapped back.
Holly was trying desperately not to laugh at them bickering as she thought about how desperate Ilene must be. It would take a lot of effort and contacts to get tickets for her plus Kelps plus the Marshelles.
The ambulance arrived as David was taken away something fell out of his pocket. Ilene picked them up and counted- she clapped her hands in delight as realised what they were- the tickets. They were going on holiday with the Marshelles and she’d show her who was the best housewife!
As Maria Marshell left Ilene told her all about it and the woman looked as if she was about to be sick.
“Oh that’s…. great. I’ll see you there.” she said softly.
“Is this were you show that bitch who’s better Mummy?” Grub asked “Is it? Remember mum you were saying you’ll show her and her fake designer dress…”
Grub was dragged away with his mother’s hand over his mouth.
