About: Holly’s mission above ground and how she worked with Artemis to accomplish her mission.

Disclaimer: I don’t own Artemis Fowl, this is written in the time frame after the
Lost Colony. However it wouldn’t correspond my fanfic as I wanted Beet Root to live. Hence, He would be revived by me XD And that Holly, Foaly and Beet Root is still in the LEP.

In the LEP:

  ” Holly Short, there’s a mission for you.” Commander Julius Root said in a stern tone. When is he ever not stern? Holly Short looked around in excitement, her hair lining her shoulders. “SHORT! Stop figeting and start listening!” Commander Root turned a shade of red and boomed.”OK Ok!’ Holly sulked,” I was listening!” She defended herself.
  ” Anyway, all you have to do is to complete this mission without using your magic. End of story.” Commander Root finalised, showing her to the door. ” But wait, without magic!” Holly exclaimed, and resisted with such force that Julius had to push her out of his office. Before slamming the door, he yelled, I told you at the beginning of my talk!”
  “Gosh! Is he jilted?” Holly stared in utter shock. Foaly came by, laughing in pure pleasure,”Seems like a dumped Beet Root.” And they burst into laughter.
  “One more word and you’re F-I-R-E-D.” Came Commander Root’s voice from his office, sending the two off them back to their duty.

In a outdoor class:

  Artemis Fowl the Second rolled his eyes.Around him, kids his age were playing and chatting while the helpless teacher was trying to get their attention.
  How childish, they have better time than to waste precious moments fooling about, like getting ri-
  Artemis stopped. He rubbed his hands guiltily, he had promised his Mother not to think about expanding the family’s fortune. But what can you expect a genius to do? Learn how to do multiplication of 98(square) x 67(cube)?
  ” Hey there!” A girl came to him, surprising him unpleasantly. Artemis screwed his brows in irritation and nodded in responses. “Want a lolly?” The girl held out a lollipop to him. Artemis tried to cover his disgust and shook his head, maintaining a great effort to control his emotions.”No, thank you.”
  ” Oh and Holly, isn’t your ear sticking out a bit too much.” Artemis commented absent-mindedly. Holly stared in shock, ” How did you know it was me?!”
  Artemis pointed to his eye, grinning,”I see you.” Holly Short returned his grin,” AS sharp as ever.” She tilted her head to one side and in a quick action, she stuffed the lollipop into Artemis mouth. Artemis choked on it and had to beat his chest in order to regain his breathe. ” What on earth did you do that for!?”
  “Nothing, just seeing the effects.” Holly replied innocently, twirling her hair. Artemis frowned, very angrily. He is fooled, for the first time of his life, by such low-trick. There is much he should learn on. Like defense from Bulter, or Juliet.
  Analynising the situation ( which was faster than the speed of like, 1 million kilometres/0.0000000001s), he prompted the question,” I don’t suppose you are just here to stuff the  lollipop in my mouth, are you?”
  Holly slapped her forehead in mock annoyance,” typical Artemis, never to enjoy life. Yes, you are right, I am here on a mission, without Magic, hence I need your help.”
  Artemis grinned a very smirk grin,” My consultant fee and reward?”
  Holly groaned and punched him on the back, sticking her nose in the air.”Some thing never change.”
  “On what is the mission about?” Artemis asked. Holly plopped on the ground and sighed. “Well,  one of your classmate..,” she glanced around, taking in the faces of his classmates. “…Is Beet Root in disguise.”
  Artemis thought for a while before a smile formed on his lips. Holly glared at him in irritation and stamped her foot,”It’s not funny, Artemis!”
  The smile from Artemis Fowl’s face instantly vanished and he replied in a cold but surprised voice.”Really Holly, what is Root’s special trait?”
  Holly stop short and put her tap her hand on her temple thoughtfully. Beet Root’s true to his name. Evil thoughts of letting him reveal his true colours filled her elfin head as she chuckled excitedly. Just as she was plotting her revenge on Julius Root for all the emotional and pyscological pain she gone through under him, a ball smacked her in the head, interrupting her malicious thoughts.
  ” I am really sorry!’ A girl apologised profusely. Holly rubbed her head in agony and shook her head to ensure that her brain was still in functioning condition. ” It’s ok,” she groaned. “Could you please help me get that ball. Thanks!” the girl waved gratefully to her.
  “Come on Arty!” Holly dragged him towards the dense undergrowth.”It’s Artemis Fowl the Second….” Artemis cursed under his breath.
  “there it is!” Holly jumped up in squeal. Holly pushed Artemis, who was very displease at such forceful acts. Artemis shot her a glare before picking the ball, very relunctantly up. However, things got complicated when a net swarmed up, swallowing him up and attaching him up a tree. under the net, the ground melted to become hot molten lava.
  “Artemis!” Holly cried in helplessness. She punched her legs in anger, angry at herself for causing him to be trapped. Trapped like a bird in a cage. She should be the one, not Artemis. A drop of tear slid down her cheek, splashing onto a flower reaching for the sunlight.
  “So what are you going to do? Sit there and sob like a helpless child?” Holly glanced up to see Commander Root looking expextantly at her. Yes, she had better to do than mop like a kid, she has a brain, and brains are meant to think.
  “JULIUS ROOT!” Cried an agitated Artemis, who was squirming in his cell.” You will be hearing from my lawyer soon!”
  “Bring it on. You think they would believe a teen being capture by fairies? You can read more fairytales during bedtime.” Julius swiped off the threat with a simple retort which resulted in a rabid,raving Artemis.
  “One wrong move and Artemis will go down.” Julius warned, watching Holly Short intently.
  Holly studied the net and its accesories. “Artemis, you do know how a hot-air balloon operates right?”
  Artemis nodded and in a split moment, he understood Holly’s intention. He signalled to Holly and they grinned in unison. Holly picked up a stone, inhaling a deep breathe, she took aim and thrust with all her might. The stone meet contact with the rope, slicing it into two. Now free, Artemis held his coat spread out and catching the pockets of air, he slowly propell himself away from the pit of death. He landed on the grassy land, a spoke in a carefully controlled voice,” Just what was that Julius Root?”
  However Julius ignored him and turned to Holly,” Mission…”
  Holly widen her eys, focusing her stare at Julius.
  ” Pass.”
  ” Thank you so much Artemis!” Holly said hugging him in sheer happiness. ” Here’s something for you, a gift to thank you. I have to go now, take care!”
  Holly waved as she disappeared into the woods with Commander Root. Artemis looked down at the wrapped present and he peeled the wrappings off. Inside it contained a lollipop.
  ” Holly!!!!!!!!!! You INGRATE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!”
