Chapter 1: Drama
this is my pet project at the moment, i go through those a lot so please please read it! it’s not done yet, or to a point when I would want to publish it, but I want symojen to read it before leaving.
“I am so bored!” Holly moaned and leaned back in her chair.
Holly, Butler and Artemis sat in Fowl Manor. His parents had long sense moved out. Artemis was an adult at this point, very much an adult.
“That is because you have six hour workdays five days a week,” Artemis replied, “I, on the other hand, work twenty four hours a day, seven days a week. This break is very welcome.”
“Shut up Mud Man, entertain me.”
Butler leaned back in his chair and sighed, “Holly, you have way to much energy.”
“Minerva used to do things with me,” Holly muttered.
Artemis responded, “Fourteen years ago, although if you want to go to my ex wife and ‘hang out’, be my guest.”
“I’m only joking Mud Man.”
“I know,” Artemis sighed, “If you find a mission on the LEP database within the country of Ireland, I’ll help. That is a big if though.”
“You’re boring. Life has no drama anymore! After the demons, we both got awards and then what? Nothing! No more missions. You went and got married, divorced after a few years, and now here we are. Not a great way to spend our lives.”
Artemis’s phone buzzed in his pocket and he absentmindly put it to his ear and said, “This is Artemis Fowl.”
“Artemis?” a voice on the other end asked through tears.
Artemis stiffled a gasp, “Min?”
Holly smerked, “And here is the drama I was looking for!”
Minerva spoke, “Who’s there with you?”
“Butler and Holly. Min, why are you…”
“Good, no one who I have to worry about,” she replied and Artemis could tell she was pulling herself togeather, “Artemis, I need your help.”
“Minerva, we’re divorced.”
“I know that, thanks for the obvious point. Do you want me to beg?”
“What would I be doing exactly?” he leaned back in his chair and felt the others in the room watching him.
“This needs to be told in person. Can you get to France?”
“Um…” Artemis rubbed the bridge of his nose and sighed, “Yes. I can come. You better appriciate this.”
“I do! Thank you so much Artemis, you’re a life saver. Literally.”
“Something tells me I am going to find out exactly what you mean by that tomorrow. Goodbye Min.”
“Bye Artemis.”
Artemis hung up the phone and Butler moaned, “Do you remember how long it took you to get over her?”
“Yes and this is a pure business visit. She needs my help.”
“Which she could have gotten from any other…” Holly drifted off.
“Genius? Not exactly easy to come by,” Artemis finished for her.
Holly sighed, “When do we leave?”
************
Artemis, Butler, and Holly rang the doorbell to Minerva’s house the next morning. She heard quick footsteps and the door flew open. Minerva’s eyes were bright red, more so then ever before.
“Artemis…” she sounded like a million pounds were lefted off her shoulders, “You came.”
“I told you I would.”
“I know you did. I am so sorry.”
“Why?” Artemis asked as Minerva let them in.
“What I am going to tell you about. I’m saying sorry in advance.”
Minerva sat them in the living room and Butler asked, “Where are Beau and your father?”
“My father took Beau out for the day. Neither liked to see me upset.”
“And why are you upset?” Holly asked.
“That’s the part that’s hard for me to admit.”
Artemis smiled slightly, “Whatever it is Min, just say it. I’m curious.”
“Fine but please don’t be mad Artemis. Fourteen years ago, after we were divorced for a few monthes… I had a baby. A baby girl. Her name is Kayla. She’s so amazing Artemis, she is so much like you! Not a genius like I would have thought, but smart in a witty type of way. Sh-”
“You kept my daughtor, my only child, away from me for fourteen years!” Artemis cut her off and muttered through gritted teeth.
There was a twinge of blue to his skin, and a few sparks escaping his skin every now and then, when Minerva looked puzzled at Artemis’ excess magic Holly explained, “Magic is hard to control when feeling an extreme emotion. Sadness, happiness…”
“Anger,” Artemis looked more mad then any of them had ever seen him, “How could you do this Minerva?”
“I didn’t…I couldn’t…I just didn’t want her to turn out like we did,” she said softly, “I was afraid if she knew you…”
“So what did you tell her?” he practically whispered.
“I didn’t tell her you died, but I said you left.”
“You blamed her not knowing me on me!”
“Artemis I am so sor-”
“Save your breath Minerva. This is unforgiveable,” he stood up and walked away, down the hallway.
A few minutes later Holly tapped him on the shoulder, “Mud Man?”
“Hey,” he said sadly.
“She’s bawling her eyes out in there.”
“Good.”
“Artemis, as I see it, you have two options. Option one, you can walk out that door and never look back. Option two, you can go back into that room and stay as mad at Minerva as you would like, but save your daughtor’s life. Your choice.”
“I have to help, don’t I,” he muttered.
“It would be the right thing to do,” Holly replied, “I’m with you, whatever you decide.”
He stood up and walked back to the room and everyone looked back at him, “Minerva, I am still furious at you. Obviously. However, I am going to find our daughtor.”

Minerva actually stood by the door when she…UGH! THAT’S DISGUSTING! (especially since I’m a A/H shipper but I wouldn’t have put that even if this was about Holly)
And Holly is SO OOC!

Okay, I’m just curious, but is the Kayla you wrote about based on the Kayla in my latest story?

Um I didn’t mean to but I remember loving your character… Maybe it was subconcious but I meant to make her origional.
