Loading ...Holly sat daydreaming while she waited for the teacher in charge of detention to arrive.
She thought back to the first time she played crunchball, she kept getting pushed down and she cried for her Dad-she was only little- but he didn’t take her away.
“I know you can get back up -so do it.” he called.
She did, she got knocked again but she stayed up this time. She was talking to her Dad about it years later.
“Remember you made me to get up?” she asked.
“I never. I only encouraged you. YOU made yourself get back up.”
It was something that was stuck in her memory and always would . Without being depressing or forceful her Dad had told her she could always get back up no matter how many times she fell, she could do ANYTHING and she intended to. She’d never told anyone this but Trouble Kelp- she was going to be in the LEP. She’d make it to recon and to captain. To her surprise it was her history teacher that came and took her for detention.
“Holly can I tell you something?” he asked her but she never got a chance to reply.
“You are brave, loyal, determined and smart- you’re attitude however is completely stupid.”
She sat and starred at him offended but he continued.
“We all know Charlotte has every advantage possible on everything but pulling out her hair isn’t the best way to defeat her- you need to play HER game. You need to use her tactics. Do that- and you’ll do great here.”
She smiled gratefully- she got it.
“Sir?” she asked “Has a girl ever be in recon? It’s just you teach History so you might know…”
“No. They don’t let girls in at the moment but if you ask me- once they find the RIGHT girl they’ll let her in. For example… a certain commander’s daughter.”
