Charlotte looked at the building with wonder it was so… Robyn-ish! It was grand and had the family crest above the front door. Every last inch of detail was perfected.
Holly thought it was a pile of old bricks- like the school without power or running water. She didn’t quite get her fascination with it and was more amazed that they’d managed to GET to the surface. She tried to focus on getting back not what happened the lat time she was here.
Charlotte opened the door pushing it lightly and then her wonder was followed by disappointment. It was like seeing gold getting turned into lead.
The place was wrecked.
“No.” Charlotte said out loud as her eyes filled with tears.
Suddenly Holly felt a bit sorry for her but it passed at the speed of light. She used to think this girl was like Lili Frond- but Lili wasn’t cruel. Nosy, a show off, annoying. If anyone said of any of this about Lili Frond she’d agree but she wasn’t malicious. Lili was an angel compared to Charlotte Eloise Robyn!
“Robyn it’s been like this for.. Thousands of years when you left they destroyed it.” Holly said in a tone used to explain to a four year old that two and two DOES equal 4.
Charlotte looked at the carpets once cream and thick now dirty and white. More of the curtain had been burnt than left, the few pieces of furniture looked as if they’d been rolled down the stair case then stamped on 100 times. Her face looked like a child’s after they’ve been told they need to go to the dentist -she was upset and looking for someone to blame for her disappointment. This SOMEONE was Holly, somehow she managed to twist it round in her mind so that it had nothing to do with humans but the elf.
She was going to pay!
