Story Details

Artemis was talking to Holly on his communicator.  He had something in mind.

“Hey Artemis.  You called me?”

“Yes.  I need to show you something.”  Holly’s curiosity was instantly stirred.

“What?”  Artemis blushed and pulled a guitar off his bed.  “I didn’t know you played guitar!”

“I started playing after we got back.  I want you to try and guess who this song is for.”  He started playing, and singing, “Hey there Delilah.”

Hey there Delilah
What’s it like in New York City?
I’m a thousand miles away
But girl tonight you look so pretty
Yes you do
Times Square can’t shine as bright as you
I swear it’s true
Hey there Delilah
Don’t you worry about the distance
I’m right there if you get lonely
Give this song another listen
Close your eyes
Listen to my voice it’s my disguise
I’m by your side

Oh it’s what you do to me
Oh it’s what you do to me
Oh it’s what you do to me
Oh it’s what you do to me
What you do to me

“Umm, Minerva?”  “No, but it is for a girl.  Let me finish, please.”
Hey there Delilah
I know times are getting hard
But just believe me girl
Someday I’ll pay the bills with this guitar
We’ll have it good
We’ll have the life we knew we would
My word is good

“Umm, Minerva?”  “No, but it is for a girl.  Let me finish, please.”

Hey there Delilah
I’ve got so much left to say
If every simple song I wrote to you
Would take your breath away
I’d write it all
Even more in love with me you’d fall
We’d have it all
Oh it’s what you do to me
Oh it’s what you do to me
Oh it’s what you do to me
Oh it’s what you do to me

A thousand miles seems pretty far
But they’ve got planes and trains and cars
I’d walk to you if I had no other way
Our friends would all make fun of us
and we’ll just laugh along because we know
That none of them have felt this way
Delilah I can promise you
That by the time we get through
The world will never ever be the same
And you’re to blame

Hey there Delilah
You be good and don’t you miss me
Two more years and you’ll be done with school
And I’ll be making history like I do
You know it’s all because of you
We can do whatever we want to
Hey there Delilah here’s to you
This ones for you
Oh it’s what you do to me
Oh it’s what you do to me
Oh it’s what you do to me
Oh it’s what you do to me
What you do to me.

Oh oh
OOOoohhhh
Oh oh
Ooooooohhhhh
Oh Oh
OOOoohhhh
OOOOooohhhhh
Oh Oh

“I can’t think of anymore girls that I know that you know too!  Tell me!”

“You forgot one big one.”

“Who?”

“You.”

“Me?”

“Yes, you.  I love you, Holly.”

“I…I…” Artemis turned scarlet at Holly’s lack of words.

“It’s not natural for you to be at a loss for words.  I think I’ll hang up…” At that moment Holly interrupted him,

“No!  I mean, don’t hang up, I…I think, I love you too.”

…really cheesy…the charachters are OOC…especially Artemis…if you just put in a decent little story maybe this would have been better…

Cool songfic! Now that I listen to the song, I realize most of it fits! I have Hey there Delilah on my Ipod, And I was thinking you could flip some of the words so it aplies more. But otherwise, Great Job!

Nooooooooo!I have it stuck in my head now!I kinda like the song but I think they play it too much on the radio and stuff.Anyways, the song and the story went together.

I really like it I just wish you’d fleshed the story out more instead of depending on the lyrics to tell the whole thing.
