Chapter two: Kitsune?
The L.E.P stood there, staring at what only seconds ago was a small girl. Mouths hung open in disbelief. Root was first to get his senses back to normal.
“Frond! Get yourselves back together men! STUN IT!”
The L.E.P members that held the stun guns aimed at the fox. Grub (who was shockingly their) was the first to shoot. His shot ended up going through the window. The fox went into panic and ran up a set of stairs, followed by a dozen tranquilizers. Each one missed, but another would follow.
“GRUB! YOU SCARED THE THING AWAY! Give me that stunner” Root snatched the stunner out of Grubs hands and walked up the stairs.
If ya want something done right ya always gotta do it ya self
With out a sound Root lifted up a board, and found the fox hiding in the corner.
“There you are”
He fired the gun and got a perfect shot in the back. Its eyes slowly shut and it went to sleep. Satisfied with himself, Root picked it up and walked back down the stairs. When he passed Foaly he put the animal in his hands.
“You know what you have to do” was all Root said, and continued to check the lab out.
Foaly looked at what was in his arms. It seemed so peaceful, so normal that you would never guess that it was an elf. He took another look around the lab and saw that there were other tubes just like the one that Beta had opened. They would deal with them later.
 

POLICE PLAZA
Holly Short walked into Police Plaza hands full. In one arm she held 8 bottles of carrot juice for Foaly and in the other arm she carried the reports she had taken home the night before. She turned the corner and began to walk towards Foaly’s office. Just as she reached the door she heard someone call out to her.
“Holly! Do you need a hand there?” Trouble Kelp said, walked towards her. Holly shook her head.
“No need Trouble, I just got to drop these bottles off to Foaly and then…..”   Holly didn’t get time to finish what she was going to say, for Foaly had opened the door (which Holly had been supporting the weight on) and now Holly laid flat on her back, covered in carrot juice.
This is so humiliating
She looked up and saw that a mini crowd of people had come over to see.  She noticed that Chix was smiling.
“What you smiling about Chix?” she said, daring him to answer.  Trouble bent down to help her up, handing her his jumper. Only then did she realise that the carrot juice had made her top go see through. She quickly put the jumper on and rushed into Foaly’s office.
“At this moment in time I hate you” muttered Holly. Foaly gave a fake cough in attempted to get Holly’s attention. He pointed to cage that sat on one of the desks. Holly peered inside and saw that a fox was sitting there.                   “Why do you have a fox in you’re lab?”
Foaly explained what had happened that morning. How it had changed, how Root had stunned it and how Beta had got himself covered in the green liquid. Foaly went over to the cage. He took the latch off and seconds after, the fox jumped out. It went into the middle of the room. Just like in the lab it stood there for a few seconds and then changed back into the girl.
Holly was the first to talk. “Do you have a name?”
“Kitsune Evergreen…Kit for short”
Foaly opened up a file search on Evergreen. 2 files came up. One file held something about Evergreen trees. Obviously that was not the file. The other held an unfinished missing child case. Foaly quickly read through it.
“Seems when you were only just born you were taken out of the hospital that night….along with 8 others  by an unknown man and never seen again. Until now”
Kit was now leaning against the wall. Her hair covered her face, making it impossible to see her expression.
“So he used me for an experiment?” she said quietly.
“Well actually when you were asleep I took a blood sample. And we ran a few tests and the result is that he actually crossed your DNA with a fox’s. That explains the ears….and the changing.”
No one spoke for a while. Kit lifted her head. Her mouth twitched at the sides. Her amber eyes blazed with anger. She took a step and kicked Foaly’s chair.
“I HATE HIM! HE USED ME LIKE A GUINEAPIG! HE MADE ME A FOX! I HATE HIM!”
She flung a table over. She just couldn’t hold in her anger. She went to kick another chair but didn’t. Instead she slumped to the ground, and cried. She muttered on about things Foaly and Holly couldn’t understand.
After 5 minutes Holly left the room. She walked down the corridor and around another corner. Making sure that no one was in hearing distance, she pulled out her phone. She dialled and waited. 2 rings. 3ring. 4 rings.
“Yes Holly what is it?”
 “Hello to you to Mud boy.  By any chance, do you feel like helping a elf  find the man who made her part fox?

“An Elf cross a fox…..that’s a new one. Well since it is the holidays I guess I can… I’ll be there in…around 2 ish?”
“Make it 1 and I wont call you Arty for a week.”
Holly ended the call and walked back in the direction of Foaly’s office. Holly was determined to find the man that did this to Kit.
