“Wow,” Vinyaya whispered as she caught sight of the flight academy. She had seen it countless times before, but it always amazed her as to how big it was.
The big, metallic blue and silver building was always scary when she looked at it. It was just so ….. big. With seventy-two floors and sixty classrooms, it was a Haven masterpiece, the pride of the LEP.
“Amazes you, does’nt it?” Came a soft voice in her ear. Vinyaya spun round. There was a little sour-faced sprite hovering at her shoulders. His mouth was curled up in an eternal sneer. His green face had white blotches , and his eyes were quick and cunning. Vinyaya decided that she didn’t like him. “Yeah,” she said, and turned away from him.
But he spun her around to face him.”Being rude, are we, firetop?” He hissed. Vinyaya could smell his rancid breath.”Someone needs to teach you a little manners.”
Vinyaya could feel her anger boiling up inside of her. Remember Bibi’s promise, she told herself sternly. Don’t let Bibi down.
“Someone needs to teach you the mechanics of a toothbrush,” she retorted. “Go pester someone else.”
She pinched the skin between his thumband forefinger with her nails. He let out a squeak and retreated back into the crowd of students.
Stupid Vinyaya! she scolded herself. You just arrived!
“Flight students, please go with Commander Elder.” Vinyaya grinned.
“That’s me!” she said excitedly to herself. She rushed on Elder’s side.
“Recons, you come with me.”
Vinyaya realized with a sinking feeling that Julius wasn’t on the flying side. Ah well. He didn’t look like that type anyway. Then she also realized that the stupid sprite who had harassed her was in the flight school, too.

I absolutely agree with Jade Malice. And I really like how you remembered to include Turnball and Cudgeon, and how it isn’t all clearly mushily romantic. Anyway, nice work, I’ll definitely keep reading when you update.

I really do like this a lot- it reminds me a bit of Tamora Peirce’s Tortall books (mostly Protector of the Small). Anyway, can’t wait until you update!
My only qualm is that I don’t think the fairies would eat chicken, but it doesn’ really matter. And you made it too good a scene to change anyway.

yes! the best fanfic in a while! i love julius and vinyaya romances. but in the books, chix just seemed like a nuisence, not violent. i still love it.
