“Vinyaya! This is the second time this lesson I have caught you falling asleep in class!” The Flight Professor trilled.

Vinyaya jumped, awaking from her daydreams. “Huh? Oh- Sorry, sir,” She said, blushing and leaning over her book again.

In the background she heard Glider Verbil snicker. She shut the book and turned around to give him a stinging glare. He bent his head over his book again.

She really loved flight class, but she couldn’t think properly, especially when she saw that disgusting Verbil boy playing with Bibi’s locket. He sometimes even sucked on it. Imagine that!

“Since Vinyaya is so interested in what she is daydreaming about, perhaps she should tell us,” The teacher said sharply.

Vinyaya jumped again.”Sorry, sir,” she muttered, and bent her head over her book . She raised it again when she realized that everyone was looking at her.

“What were you daydreaming about, Vinyaya? We want to hear.”

Vinyaya opened her mouth.

“Stand up, please.”

Vinyaya stood up, her chair screeching on the tiles as she pushed it back. She felt stupid. Especially since the Verbil boy was stuffing his fingers into his mouth to keep fro laughing. Out of the corner she saw Julius slam a fist into his palm at him. He stopped immediately.

“Perhaps Vinyaya is daydreaming about how handsome that Verbil boy is. Or perhaps she is wondering what she would name their children.”

Vinyaya’s head snapped back to him.

The class could not control their laughter anymore. Loud, raucous snorts burst from all the boys. Some had fallen out of their chairs and were banging their fists on the floor in mirth. Julius looked furiously at the teacher. He knew the education act from back to front, and it certainly did not mention bringing up children’s love lives in the class!

Vinyaya’s pink cheeks turned a furious shade of scarlet, and she could not rein in her temper.

“How dare you!” She screamed, “How dare you bring that boy’s name up in my love life! How dare you tell me I’ll have children with him!Nobody tells you you’re dreaming about what Miss Stardust will wear on the date your’e having this afternoon!And at least that’s true!”

The class had gone deathly quiet. Nobody moved or spoke.You could have heard a pin drop.

The teacher was too stunned for words. his chest was rising and falling in anger.

“How- dare- you,” he choked. “Never-in-all-my–life– have I heard such insolence!”

Vinyaya stormed up to the front of the class and spat at his feet. Then she raged out, nearly ripping the door off its hinges with the slam she gave it.  The class looked at each other in shock.

Vinyaya was in for it!
