Story Details

-LEP HQ, The Lower Elements-

When the shuttle arrived back at the LEP shuttleport, Billy stepped out and onto the ground. His friend, Erin, came out and patted him on the back. “You did a good job out there.”

“Thanks.”

“You look exhausted as hell, mate.”

The two chuckled and ran to catch up with the rest of the troops.

The troops assembled in the Assembly Room to report back to Holly. They told her of how they retreated and told her further news.

Lyen told Gengis the outcome of the east warehouse battle. Gengis listened with very little satisfaction.

“I see.” he said. “This… Billy fellow, he wiped out most of your men?”

“Yes. He’s become a big problem of ours.”

Gengis nodded. “We’ve drawn too much attention to ourselves. We’ll lay low and try to make ourselves… err… less visible.”

Erin walked over to Billy. “Hey, Commander Root wants yer’ in is office.”

Billy walked over to his door and opened it up.

“Have a seat, Billy”

“Yes, sir?”

Root lit a cigar and blew out a cloud of smoke. “Your fellow troops say that you did well at the firefight over at the warehouse.”

“And?”

“We want you to go undercover and disguise yourself as one of the drug dealers.”

Billy was in shock. This was the first time they’ve asked him to go undercover.

“I… I don’t know what to say… I…”

Root sighed. “Now-now, you don’t have to take it that far…”

Billy leaned over the desk and shook the commanders hand. “Thanks sir! I’ll go report to Holly immediatly!”

Root sighed. “The LEP these days…”

The camoflauged mic in Billys’ ear began to fizz with disturbance then Foalys’ voice became more clearer.

“Alright Billy, if my readings are correct, their hideout should be just a block away from you. Do you happen to see a building with the name, ‘Flinton’s Pub’?”

Billy squinted. He spotted the faint lettering from afar.  “Uh… yup. I see her.”

“Alright, make your way there and I’ll give you further derictions.”

When Billy had finally reached the entrance, the mic began to fizz with a great amount of disturbance, he could hardly make out what Foaly was saying.

“Billy are you… Billy, can you hear… me?”

“Foaly, hey… Foaly!” Billy said.  “D’Arvit!”

He was then able to hear the last of Foaly’s words.  “Billy… I’m… I’m sorry, but there seems to be a great disturbance there and I can’t talk to you. I… guess you’re on your o… own.”

“D’Arvit!” Billy grunted. He unhooked the mic and placed it in his pocket. He’d have to play things solo now. He walked over to the entrance and got in line along with the others going into the club. There was five in front of him. The gaurd simply told each of them that they weren’t on the list. When Billy was finallly alone with the gaurd, he began to go down the list of names.

He looked up at Billy. “Yep, you on the list, son.”

Wow, cool, I like the idea; it’s really cool. I do have one question though, is Erin a girl, or a guy?
That is the girl’s spelling, but I’ve heard of a guy that uses that spelling.
    Just wondering.
