Loading ...“That is a warp pad. We can use it to get to Fantasia. Anceint vampires used it to get to the surface for dinner prowls” Rin turned away in disgust. “After it was discovered though, LEP warlocks had sealed it and positioned guards around it to stop any illegal immigrants” Rin pointed at a swirling vortex near a bush. “Anyone without magical capacity will not see it, and the only way to do so is to run into it, but the LEP officer has seen to that”
Holly peered closer. As luck would have it, the officer on duty just happened to be Chix Verbal…or was it Vergil? Oh well, it didn’t matter. What did matter was that Holly was once working alongside him in the B’wa Kell saga and knew that he would be dispatched easily. She grinned.
“Getting in wouldn’t be a problem” catching the surprised faces of everyone, she added: “that officer just so happens to be Chix. I knew him. He’s a gullible idiot and not much of a officer”
“Well, why didn’t you say so earlier?” asked Butler as he held out a dart rifle and knocked Chix out. “Done.”
The group strolled over to the spiralling vortex as Rin unlocked the seal easily with her magic. “Okay, Butler, link hands with Artemis and Minerva, link hands with Holly. I know you ordinary humans can’t see the warp pad, so hang on to someone who can. I’ll go in solo and I’ll call back to tell you if it’s safe.” Artemis was just about to object when Rin leaped into the warp pad.
Five seconds later, Rin’s blue hair pin flew out from the tunnel. A signal. Soon, everyone dived into the tunnel. The surroundings felt cool and moist against everyone’s skin, although Minerva was starting to get a little warpsick (I invented that word) from all the spinning.
Soon, everyone fell from the dimention hole. Artemis managed to land on his feet, while everyone else landed flat on their faces.
Oww… Everyone groaned.
“Sorry about the bumpy ride. It was either this or finding some way to steal a LEP shuttle.” Artemis and co turned to see Rin with tears in her eyes. In a moment, eveyone realized why.
The once prosperous city of Fantasia was in ruins. Houses had been torn down or burned to the ground. The dirt path was littered with the corpses of men who had died to defend their home. Homeless women with children huddled around poorly built fires. There was an unsettling fear in the air. In all their years, Artemis, Butler, Holly, and Minerva had never seen such a miserable sight.
Rin was silent as she led the way to her cottage. No one said anything. Rin had just pushed open the door cautiously.
Whoosh. Rin shrieked as she missed a fireball by a hair. Everyone looked up to see three vampires in the living room.
“Well, well, well… just when we thought you’d never come back” The tallest of them sneered. “And with a elf and humans… you traitor!”
“No, no this is a big mistake!” Rin started.
“SILENCE!” he roared. The leader signaled to the shorter underling of the two. His subordinate drew a diamond sword, preparing to cut the protagonists, one by one…
Ha Ha! I hate to stop on such an exciting place, but I enjoy building suspense. And no, the intruders are not people Rin has met before. I will start the next chapter immediately though.

Yeah, and after her encounters with mud men, vampires will think of Rin as a traitor (oops… I think I said too much).

You can start rating by the next chapter. That is where things really start getting exciting. You expect the main conflict is Rin going home, but it really isn’t. It’s much worse.

DRAT!!! I forgot Minerva doesn’t appear before the Lost Colony! Oh well! Readers, just pretend that Minerva meets Artemis during that time! Stupid.stupid.stupid.stupid.stupid. Actually, scratch that. I’m just going to pretend this is after the lost colony and everything is settled down with all the mind wipes on Arty’s parents and Holly is still going solo.

Yeah, I forgot the vampire smile. And besides, vampire sight is greatly dilluted by light. I also could not come up with a decent title, and it will seem like a bloody lily later on. I think that covers everything. Oh, and I have bad grammar that I’ll try to correct.

I’m not really good at those “sweet” moments, but I’ll try in the future. Fear not, Arty fans! There IS a cure, it just depends on if Rin is willing to help them (or if she runs out in fear or disgrace).
