Loading ...The man looked about 25 (in human years, obviously). There were bags under his eyes and he had a half-torn wing folded under his tattered cloak.
“Adularia Miermere… but you’re dead! We personally witnessed your disposal!”
“No” Adularia whispered as he decapitated the two men with his sword. “There was a third survivor of the project 8HJS9″
AN: Adularia is a type of Moonstone. I think of the moon when I think of vampires for some reason…
“Adul!” Rin rushed forward to embrace her brother. Being all alone made Rin more emotionally tough during the years but she could not hold back the tears that flooded her eyes. The others stayed silent for many minutes during the reunion.
“There, there. I’m sorry I didn’t return for all those years but it was difficult to find you after our house burned down”
“How did you survive? I was informed that you were cremated after the failed experiment”
“The experiment never failed. I was sucessfully half humanized. I was captured and sentenced to execution in secret after I learned that project 8HJS9 was actually Major Sool’s attempt to establish vampire spies on the surface, seeing that our powers are so much greater than an ordinary fairy’s. I had been tossed in the magic shredder, which breaks down magical beings. They had forgotten that I was half humanized and I was able to come out of it alive”
Holly was shocked (but not as much as Rin). “So Sool was planning all of this right under the Commander and Foaly’s nose?”
“I’m afraid so. Eventually, the Gilfaes had lost favor in Sool. It seems the new minister had reinstated them for their original purpose”
Everyone fell silent again.
“So anyway, you’re the one who had delivered the scroll?” asked Artemis.
“Yes. We had to make it right, don’t we? It’s in a vampire’s nature to take up responsibility for their actions”
Rin blushed. Adularia changed the subject.
“Either way, thanks for looking after my sister. You do not know what it feels like to find Rin’s house in pieces and not know her wherabouts. Besides the tomato incident!” Adularia teased.
“Pardon the intrusion, but we have a slight problem. One of the ingredients on the list calls for Oviraptoridae feathers, and it is long extinct” said Artemis. Adularia laughed.
“Honestly mud boy. Do you believe in time travel?”
Everyone’s eyes grew wide.

You can start rating by the next chapter. That is where things really start getting exciting. You expect the main conflict is Rin going home, but it really isn’t. It’s much worse.

DRAT!!! I forgot Minerva doesn’t appear before the Lost Colony! Oh well! Readers, just pretend that Minerva meets Artemis during that time! Stupid.stupid.stupid.stupid.stupid. Actually, scratch that. I’m just going to pretend this is after the lost colony and everything is settled down with all the mind wipes on Arty’s parents and Holly is still going solo.

Yeah, I forgot the vampire smile. And besides, vampire sight is greatly dilluted by light. I also could not come up with a decent title, and it will seem like a bloody lily later on. I think that covers everything. Oh, and I have bad grammar that I’ll try to correct.

I’m not really good at those “sweet” moments, but I’ll try in the future. Fear not, Arty fans! There IS a cure, it just depends on if Rin is willing to help them (or if she runs out in fear or disgrace).
