Loading ...Chapter Twelve - Reunion
Both Artemis and Minerva were running full pelt through the corridors of Opal’s lair. Artemis still wasn’t much of an athlete, but he knew if he stopped, there was a good chance he would never make it out of there alive. He glanced at Minerva, who was right by his side.
She seemed perfectly in shape, her face set with a grim determination. Minerva noticed Artemis was looking at her, and gave a him a small smile. Artemis’s heart gave a little lurch of happiness and content. He had to force himself to look away and concentrate on the situation at hand.
Now that he thought about it, it was strange that no one was around to stop him or Minerva. True, Minerva had shut off the cameras and disabled the motion sensors back there, so his expectations were somewhat unreasonable, but shouldn’t there be at least a few guards stationed around to keep an eye on things?
Minerva had apparently memorized a map of the whole building and the complicated network of passages it contained. They snatched a couple pairs of Dragonflies along the way, and strapped them on when they reached the front entrance. Artemis, although he had watched Holly Short put them on millions of times, had never really figured out how to put them on himself. He struggled with the controls and system of straps for a minute or so, trying not to let on that he was having trouble.
Minerva gave him a funny look. “Artemis, you wear them the way you would usually wear a backpack.” She was already wearing hers.
Artemis couldn’t help bristling. “I never wore a backpack in my entire life! So you can’t blame me for not knowing how to put these ridiculous things on!”
She rolled her eyes. “They are not ridiculous. We don’t have these on the surface, now do we? Here, let me help you.” Minerva adjusted the strap over Artemis’s shoulder before he could protest, and clicked some things into place. “There you go. Press this button to take off.”
“I know that, Minerva,” Artemis said indignantly.
“Yes, yes, you do,” she replied sarcastically. “I’ve actually used these before. Opal Koboi taught me how to.” Her voice got kind of tight at the mention of Opal’s name. “Now let’s go back to Haven and check on everyone.”
No sooner had they taken to the air when they heard a deafening explosion behind them. Both genii turned to look.
Opal Koboi’s lab had blown up and was being swallowed in flame, smoke, and dancing sparks.
The two were silent as they hovered in the sky, watching the devastation below them. Then Minerva finally said, “I wonder who made that happen.” Artemis shook his head. For once, he was not looking for answers.
“We had better get going, Minerva,” he said. “More is at stake in Haven than here. All we can hope for is that this will be the last of Opal and her minions.” She nodded, and they took off again.
Haven was not completely wrecked, as Artemis had feared. Sure, there were many casualties, but no one seemed to be dead. At least, not on first glance.
Then, suddenly, a huge form came rushing towards them.
“Butler!” Artemis exclaimed.
“Artemis, Miss Paradizo, where were you two? I’ve been searching everywhere. I was informed that you two followed Holly down here to the Lower Elements. Then a fairy told me that Miss Paradizo had turned over to the dark side! What in the world has been going on?”
Artemis and Minerva shared a knowing smile. “There is no time for us to tell you now, Butler,” Artemis said, clearing his throat.

OMG!!! I LUUUUURVE this fan fic!!! It’s gonna be A/M right? Coz I don’t wanna waste my time reading another A/H. I love H/T…sooooo cute!!!
Please update! I’ll be waiting!!! So sweet…you could edit some stuff like, in the first chapter, when Minerva asks like, ‘where did you learn that?’ about Arty’s magic, you could put instead of “I siphoned off some magic from the warlock circle and learned how to use it”, you can put ‘I stole it’, something simple sometimes does the trick

My two favourite pairings are H/T and A/M and there both (by the looks of it) going to be here! I like the style of writing it’s not too depresing but you can see which parts are serious. Good Job update soon!

After reading to the end of chapter six a few questions pop to mind, first, why did Minerva team up with Opal, second, I thought that you were a non Minerva-basher, in fact, to me, you seemed to be a M/A shipper, third, How the heck did Opal escape jail?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?

Huh? I thought you were an A/M shipper???!!! Or will she turn good? This plot is pretty erm…unlikely, and a teensy bit cliched, since if it’s Opal Koboi, well, she’s already returned once, no?
And the characters are a bit outta character as well. *shrugs*
Tell me if it’s gonna be A/M, coz I really hate fan fics where Minerva’s the antagonist and the baddie.

Just keep reading, people. Sorry I haven’t been able to update the last couple of months. I was doing something else for school. But now that school’s over, I can focus on this a little more. And read the seventh chapter if you wanna know how Koboi got into all this and why Minerva is acting all weird. And I apologize if this fanfic is starting to sound really stupid and pointless. By the way, I am still a M/A fan!

Well we will just have to wait and find out. But personaly my opinion and this has nothing to do with you is that Minerva should die plain and smpile but good job very very good
