YEAH! I LOVE YOU, MB. I REALLY DO.

In a totally platonic way. XD

AU ‘cause I feel like it.

Haru Haru by Big Bang: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MzCbEdtNbJ0&ob=av3e

Lyrics: http://koreainfoblog.blogspot.com/2008/08/haru-haru-big-bang-lyrics-translation.html They’re in bold with a circumflex in front of them for this one because almost the whole thing’s flashbacks upon flashbacks upon flashbacks. Tell me if it makes sense. XD

Written whilst I listened to a completely different song, so it might turn out messed up.

Mere seconds. Mere seconds to make up for decades, to say what should’ve been said.

There wasn’t time for composure — he threw that out the window and crouched over her, speaking rapidly. Panicked. She needs to know.

“Look, I’m sorry. For everything. I shouldn’t have…  I made a mistake, leaving you. But I had to. You understand, right? It was my duty. I was born to it. I—”

“Last call for Flight 319. Last call.”

He looked from the great clock above to her face and back again. “I… I’m sorry.”

~Leave
~Yeah, finally I realize that I am nothing without you
~I was so wrong, forgive me
~Ah, ah, ah, ah

Their laughter faded gradually, ending in an odd harmony of hiccups and giggles. She smiled and tucked her hand, that slender hand with the glass fingers – so breakable, so beautiful – into his. She turned her head to face him, and they just stayed there, content.

“You know that this can’t last, right?”

Way to ruin the moment, Dom.

“Well, why not?” She was terse, tense, annoyed. This wasn’t the first time they had this argument.

“You know that I have a duty…”

“That doesn’t include a family. Right.” Harsh, bitter, resentful.

After all, what kind of duty didn’t include a family?

He could understand that. His heart thudded and whispered, but he said no more on the topic. Instead, he stood. “G’night, then.”

Stood and left.

~My broken heart like a wave
~My shaken heart like a wind
~My heart vanished like smoke
~It can’t be removed like a tattoo
~I sigh deeply as if a ground is going to cave in
~Only dusts are piled up in my mind
~(say goodbye)

“Hello. I’m to be your son’s protector.” He offered his hand, keeping a straight expression. Best to make a good first impression, after all.

Mrs. Fowl smiled. “Glad you could make it.”

Yeah, me, too. His heart sighs, as if it’s gone a long way.

~Yeah, I thought I wouldn’t be able to live even one day without you
~But somehow I managed to live on (longer) than I thought

~You don’t answer anything as I cry out “I miss you”
~I hope for a vain expectation but now it’s useless

Could I escape right now? The Fowls are all occupied. I could meet her somehow — see how she is… if she’s moved on…

No. No.

He is your principal. You may not leave him.

Resentment crept up like a dark front. He fought back his anger.

It was a mistake. It was not meant to be.

Missing, missing, missing… an empty feeling. A feeling of being incomplete, out of depth.

I miss her.

~What is it about that person next to you, did he make you cry?
~Dear, can you even see me, did you forget completely?
~I am worried, I feel anxiety because I can’t get close nor try to talk to you
~I spend long nights by myself, erasing my thoughts a thousand times
~Don’t look back and leave
~Don’t find me again and live (on)
~Because I have no regrets from loving you, take only the good memories
~I can bear it in some way
~I can stand in some way
~You should be happy if you are like this

It’s been twenty years since, Dom. Brush it off. This is your life.

A life without her.

So bright and outgoing. My light in the dark. My talisman to ward off shadows.

~I become dull day by day (eh, eh, eh, eh)
~Oh girl I cry, cry
~You’re my all,

~Say goodbye…

“Hi.”

He tossed her a wayward glance, curious and on high alert.

“Hello.”

He sat stiffly, feeling as though he’d walked into a trap. Minutes ticked by with the roaring sound of the subway filling the silence.

“Well, this is my stop. Goodbye.” The woman smiled at him and gave him a little wave, adjusting her purse and exiting briskly.

He relaxed minutely, perturbed, and glanced out the window to get a better look at her.

It was… it was her. Why had she spoken? Why hadn’t she walked away?

That part of my life is over.

To be forgotten.

Why did she remember?

~If we pass by each other on the street
~Act like you didn’t see me and go the way you were walking to
~If you keep thinking about our past memories
~I might go look for you secretly

“The Fowl Family wishes you a merry Christmas and a happy New Year,” he wrote. He considered – should he write anything else?

Fingers tap.

Sighs are heard.

“What is it, Butler?” young Artemis asks. Seven and already so bright.

“Nothing, young master.” He throws the card out.

~Always be happy with him, (so) I won’t ever get a different mind
~Even smallest regret won’t be left out ever
~Please live well as if I should feel jealous
~You should always be like that bright sky, like that white cloud
~Yes, you should always smile like that as if nothing happened

~Don’t look back and leave
~Don’t find me again and live (on)
~Because I have no regrets from loving you, take only the good memories
~I can bear it in some way
~I can stand in some way
~You should be happy if you are like this
~I become dull day by day (eh, eh, eh, eh)

“Here, take my hand.”

Don’t trust anyone, Madame Ko had said.

Following someone else, allowing them to guide you was trusting. A high form of it.

He stepped out onto the frozen lake and took her gloved hand. He tripped, clumsy with skates, and huffed, trying to get up.

She held out her hand.

He took it once again.

~I hope your heart feels relieved
~Please forget about me and live (on)
~Those tears will dry completely
~As time passes by
~It would’ve hurt less if we didn’t meet at all (mm)
~Hope you will bury our promise of being together forever baby
~I pray for you

“Wait, I have to do this,” he told Artemis. At fifteen, he was most definitely mature and he understood. He ran out to the woman standing in line, about to board the aircraft.

~Don’t look back and leave
~Don’t find me again and live (on)
~Because I have no regrets from loving you, take only the good memories
~I can bear it in some way
~I can stand in some way
~You should be happy if you are like this
~I become dull day by day (eh, eh, eh, eh)

“Last call for Flight 319. Last call.”

And he could only look from the great clock above to her face and back again. “I… I’m sorry.”

My part ends here. From here on, it’s all you.

~Oh, girl, I cry, cry
~You’re my all, say goodbye, bye
~Oh, my love, don’t lie, lie
~You’re my heart, say goodbye

She stepped out of the queue. “I think I can afford to miss this plane.”

This was the only happy one I wrote. Wow, what’s wrong with me? XD. It started out pretty sad, though. I was going to make this one for Briar, but decided against it.

  1. That made sense! I figured it out! (I think). Basically the other person killed Arty with an arrow at the end, right?

Zero mistakes, and I think you’ll make it. 🙂

  2. That was really well written, I loved it. No con crit allowed on Challenge Entries though, so that’s all I have to say. 🙁 Oh, and you know that there was an extension on the challenge (http://artemisfowl.fangathering.com/fanfiction/announcements/an-extension-on-the-challenge/) so you can still make it, right? Anyways, good luck! 😀

  3. Oooooh I like. Cookie (::).
Why can’t you make mistakes like normal people?!?

  4. FantasyDevourer: Thanks, I felt uncomfortable with it. XD. By the way, I only made it because of the last-minute one-day extension. THANK YOU, FOWLIE!

Bobo: Haha, yeah. I wish I’d seen that announcement earlier — I could’ve started sometime at the beginning of September instead of days before the due date.

    ILoveFowl: MINE! *snatches cookie*
Hahha, I do make mistakes. But thanks. ^^

  5. I love it! This is amazing. Espicially the Orion one.

  6. Well, since the comp is over, I can give a review then.

Mistake free. Why am I even mentioning that…?

So, yeah, songs fit well, but the only things I DIDN’T like was that the actual writing was a bit far between, separated by a bunch of lyrics. So…that means the actual flow is a bit…hm…not choppy…but…not as smooth as I would like it.

  7. Wilde: Thanks.

TM: Wow, that was actually great concrit. Now that I look out for it — read it the whole way through — the lyrics did kinda disrupt the flow. That’s probably the same with all my songfics because I type up the lyrics paragraph by paragraph based on how it’s sung. *has author panic attack* NOESS. Awesome advice, but I can’t really apply it (which is kinda the point). For some, it might be too confusing to separate the lyrics differently (i.e. Butler’s — the lyrics represent a time lapse, too)
