The first thing Foaly noticed about Holly when she arrived back at Haven (aside from the fact that she seemed to have escaped from Fowl herself) was that Trouble was not with her. Then he noticed her ragged pupils and cursed under his breath, ready to activate his plasma tiles if necessary.
Holly collapsed to the floor and into Vinyaya’s arms (she happened to be there to collect surface clearance papers) and seemed to awake with a start.
“ARTEMIS!!!” Holly shrieked. Vinyaya and Foaly jumped (how did Foaly do it with four legs?) back. Poor Holly was almost knocked over from the stream of questions that issued from her colleagues’ mouths.
“I-I can’t tell you for some reason. I would like to tell you what happened, but it seems like I can’t”
Foaly mulled it over at these words.
“It did seem like you were mesmerized when you arrived here” Foaly mused. Vinyaya confirmed Holly’s shock with a grim nod. “I suppose it might be possible for the mesmer to bar you from repeating information or making you forget. I’m sure you must have planted a bug at the scene though. It’s standard LEP protocol” Holly suddenly swallowed and hoped that she wasn’t too idle as to forget this LEP regulation. If she did, she would never forgive herself.
Foaly pulled up a window on the LEPrecon-cam and verified that there was indeed a video file for the incident. The three watched in horror as the action unfolded in front of their very eyes. Holly ground her teeth in anger at Sool’s reappearance but the trio all gasped at Fowl’s request.
Everyone was thinking the same question: What was Fowl planning? Vinyaya stood up.
“We need to penetrate the time field barrier. Foaly, any ideas?” Vinyaya gestured to Foaly but was alarmed that the centaur looked extremely forlorn before he replied:
“Aw man… I was really looking forward to using this chance to demonstrate my new patents but for this, they won’t be needed.”
