“Hold on” by Micheal Buble
He placed his hand on her waist, her slender hand already resting on his shoulder. The music began.
~Didn’t they always say we were the lucky ones?
~I guess that we were once, babe, we were once.
~But luck will leave you, ’cause it is a faithless friend.
~And in the end, when life has got you down,
~You’ve got someone here you can wrap your arms around.
He led her into the first slow steps of the dance, softly rubbing her back. He felt so much just then. So much.
~So hold on to me tight, hold on to me tonight.
~We are stronger here together, than we could ever be alone.
~So hold on to me, don’t you ever let me go.
She looked up into his eyes, smiling softly, innocently, but tinged with the slightest feeling of sadness; enough to make her perfect. He watched a single happy tear slide down her cheek, over the corner of her soft cherubic mouth. He let a slow smile drift across his face.
~There’s a thousand ways for things to fall apart.
~But it’s no one’s fault, no it’s not my fault.
~And maybe all the plans we made might not work out,
~But I have no doubt even though it’s hard to see.
~I’ve got faith in us, I believe in you and me.
He couldn’t help softly singing the words to her. They fit so well. There were so many ways that this relationship could be ruined, but he didn’t even think about it. He knew they would stay together. Always.
~So hold on to me tight. Hold on, I promise it’ll be alright.
~’Cause it’s you and me together, and baby all we’ve got is time.
~So hold on to me, hold on to me tonight.
She layed her head on his shoulder, and they wrapped their arms around each other. They swayed gently to the music.
~There’s so many dreams that we have given up.
~Take a look at what we’ve got,
~And with this kind of love, what we’ve got here is enough.
“I love you,” he heard her say.
~So hold on to me tight, hold on, I promise it’ll be alright.
~’Cause we are stronger here together, than we could ever be alone.
~Just hold on to me, don’t you ever let me go.
~Hold on to me, it’s gonna be alright, hold on to me tonight.
“I love you too,” he whispered.
~They always say we were the lucky ones.
The last chord rolled out to the floor as Artemis and Holly wrapped themselves closer to each other. They kissed.
