The main page of the archive now says that we have almost 10,000 reviews, which is phenomenal- we know there are a dedicated bunch of visitors to the archive, and this is meant to be a friendly environment for people who enjoy Artemis Fowl to come together.
However, this is not a place for you to just chat. We’ve got 10,000 comments, but how many of those are actually reviews? Lately there have been lots of comments that say things like ‘lol’ or even ‘…’. We get comments that are just advertisements for other stories, or begging for updates (’plz update’ is not a review).
If you’d really like just to talk, try the Fangathering forum (forum.fangathering.com), which is actually intended for people who like about AF to discuss the books and chat.
What the archive comments are for is writing reviews of stories. You say what you like and don’t like, and explain why. Try to offer constructive criticism. For more on writing a good review, read the archive’s page on writing a good review, under ‘Help and How tos’ on the sidebar.
The editors have begun deleting posts that we do not feel are constructive. This is done without warning. Please, for your own sake, and for the sake of the person whose story you’re reviewing, leave reviews, not just comments.
Anyway, the majority of the comments are already great- this is just a reminder for those whose reviews have been a bit spammy lately.
Also, due to some problems with registered users rating as guests, we have changed the rules so that only registered users are allowed to rate stories. We’re sorry if this inconveniences everyone, but it’s the best thing for the archive. After all, we’re just here to help.
Thanks for reading, and enjoy the archive,
