I’ve been noticing a bunch of these since the Elseworlds contests opened. “Artemis Fowl FanFiction Contest, Enter Now!” Unless an editor posts the announcement, it’s not an official contest and it’s against the rules. Sorry guys, but if we catch you trying to host your own contest, it will be shut down.

There is a way to start a contest, however. Come onto the forum, ask an Admin for a spot on the site team, and suggest a contest.

Again, you need to have an administrator’s approval to start a contest. That’s Darvit or MichaelM.

Odds are either Me or BlackOpal will be the ones to announce a comment. A good way to check for authenticity is to check the forum. Odds are an announcement for any official contest should be at the top of every forum board. Another good way to know is to look at the categories here. If there’s a category for the entries (i.e. “Elseworlds Contest”), then it’s probably official.

If you want to host a contest, please join the site team and get permission.
