Loading ...As soon as he walked in, the girl stood. “Candie,” he said, emotionless as usual.
”Arty,” she replied with same tone. A flicker of annoyance flashed across his face. Candie smiled. She enjoyed this.
”What are you doing here?” he asked, anger in his voice. She stepped back.
”What? Can’t I see a friend of mine? Or are you to preoccupied with everything else that you have no time for friends?” she added with acid dripping off every word. He tensed. He had never seen this side of her.
Instead of answering her, he said,”Butler? Remove her from Fowl Manor. I have other things to do than talk to a girl that says trivial things.” He turned but not quick enough. He saw the hurt in the girl’s eyes. She turned, but he saw tears run down her face. Artemis walked out of the room with a horrible feeling.
“Butler? I have something eating me.”
“It might be guilt. You did hurt the girl’s feelings.”
Guilt? What is happening to me? Am I getting… soft?

I read this one and I was kinda iffy on it so I put 3/5 but I am still to read AFGK.
