“Who’s Manfred? My name is Christopher.” Manfred replied, looking innocently puzzled.
“What the…” Meagan said looking at Manfred. “Does anyone know what’s going on?” Meagan asked looking at the small group.
“Um, I have no id-” Eunice started to say.
Manfred interupted, “And I just love fluffy pink things, and sparky objects in general…Seven fluffy sparkles…” He had a faraway gaze in his eyes and a huge grin on his face.
Asa’s jaw dropped and they all began inching away from Manfred or, as he called himself, ‘Christopher.’
Artemis was looking at Manfred, lost in thought. Hmm…this seems to be an extreme case of Multiple Personality Disorder. Wait a moment, this seems familiar…
“Atlantis Complex!” Artemis blurted. Everyone turned to stare at him.
“I mean,” Artemis corrected himself, “I once…had a close friend who had this disorder called Atlantis Complex. It was quite similar to Christopher’s condition.”
“Sh*t! I never thought that Manfred would be able to get that with the way he is already!” Meagan nearly yelled. Asa glared at his little sister then started to walked toward Manfred.
“It’s a personality disorder that started from guilt. Has Manfred done anything he would feel guilty for?” Artemis asked the girls.
Meagan thought for a moment then sighed. “He raped my brother,” Meagan shrugged, joking though.
“I did?” Christopher seemed genuinely puzzled, “But…that would be wrong! I would never do that! NEVER!” A tear trickled down his cheek.
Asa signed and patted Christopher’s back. “It’s okay. You didn’t.” He grunted gently.
“You sure about that Asa? You know he could’ve drugged you,” Meagan said grinning slightly.
“But. He. Didn’t.” Asa said calmly as he tried to comfort Christopher, who was sobbing hysterically.
“Does this have anything to do with those ‘endowment’ things that your brother talked about all the time?” Eunice asked.
“How…how do you know about the endowments?” Asa stared at her.
“I’m a good listener. That, and my sister knew some girl that was endowed. Apparently a bunch of you guys have special gifts, because you are the children of the Red King, no?” Eunice smiled.
“Apparently.” Asa sighed. They walked on in silence for a few minutes until they reached Charlie’s house. Then, out of the blue, there was a faint “swift” sound. Meagan, Eunice, Christopher, Artemis and Asa instantly collapsed, unconscious, to the ground.
And if you listened hard enough, you could just barely hear a voice that appeared to be floating out of a shimmering patch saying, “Affirmative, Commander Kelp. Mission: Endowed, phase one, complete.”
But that was crazy, because shimmering patches couldn’t talk…could they?
Author Note: Hey, this is Dom and I’ve been wanting to let you guys know, this story may not continue. And I doubt anyone has been following this but, hey, still need to update you guys. You may not know me, but I would like to ask of favor of you. My friend Bobo was writing this with me when I lost contact with her. I would like to get in contact with her again but my emails have been deleted and I have no idea why. If any of you know her, please let me know and allow me to come into contact with her again. It’s been… five years? Man… time flies when you’re preoccupied. I would love it if you guys could, although it may be too much to ask.
Thank you. -Dom
