Chapter 2: Through the hedge
“Sacre bleu! Where on earth are we?” exclaimed Minerva as she stared across a land that was almost as if it were…illuminating. The grass they were standing on was so luscious and green. The trees towering above them looked friendly and protective. The air was filled with the wonderful scent of jasmine, rose and lily and the birds were singing to their hearts content. There was not a cloud in the sky and the sun was shining as brightly as ever. It truly felt like paradise. The only problem was that it was extremely hot. Sweat was literally evaporating off their faces. Just then a griffin landed in front of them, its golden feathery wings beating heavily, bringing a cool and welcoming breeze to the sweating people below it.
“Who are you and where have you come from?” the mighty birdlike animal asked ferociously.
“I am Artemis Fowl, and that is Holly, Foaly, Butler and Minerva. We came from the real world and where, pray tell, are we?” Artemis answered, no fear lingered on any of his words.
“You, are in the Kingdom of Soleisia.” the griffin replied his tone softening
“If this is a kingdom then you must have a king. May we go see him?” Holly asked hopefully. The griffin’s eyes were suddenly downcast and it looked like they were welling up with tears.
“I’m afraid that our king has gone. He poisoned himself with a poison that comes from a tree by the name of vamparuga (pronounced vamp-ah-roo-gah). A most deadly toxin to us in Soleisia. But you can have a meeting with Princess Soleia (pronounced so-lay-ah) , the Kings daughter. But beware, you musn’t touch her as she is guarded by her father’s spirit. This is to keep her safe from any kidnappers. One touch and you shall begin to burn uncontrollably, not even water can douse it.” explained the distraught griffin. It was very obvious that the king was a much loved and cherished ruler of this kingdom. With that the Griffin picked the 5 up with its razor sharp talons and flew straight for the golden castle, which was also giving off a bright light.

well I wrote a story called spirited away (shame that titles already been used) and there were two kingdoms one was called dlykasia and the other flambasia but since flambasia doesn’t work so well i used the beginning of soleil for the kingdom. glad you liked it. Oh and might be able to scan it into the computer if a fair amount of people want to see it.
