Artemis isn't quite being challenged by his work.

Pills Surprised tsk tsk Confused Pills are not the answer. Fiction is. I live in my own world, and I like it there. I can manage to block out almost anything that would shatter my intentional illusion. 'tis a strange universe. And humans have to be the strangest of it all. Why did we have to screw up the world? I hope in an alternate universe we were a bit smarter, or at least more logical. In the future, supercomputers may take over. I wouldn't mind too much, as long as they let us dream and harvested our creativity. Then let us wake up and read, watch TV or do stuff on the computer. By the way, the world might end soon. Just giving you all a heads up. There are many ways this may happen. We might blow ourselves up. A meteor could hit us. We could all starve. We could all freeze. The worldwide economy could collapse. Newly created nanobots could turn the world into grey goo. Believe it or not, these are all possible. And if we don't get off this planet soonish (give or take several millenia) the sun will burn us to a crisp. Yes, all of these doomsdays and more were found in a book I borrowed from the library, and no, it wasn't a fictional one. I wonder what will happen when the universe collapses. Not that I'll be here to see it, but surely there must be something else... the universe is complicated! I hope the supercomputers figure it out.

And after that bit of dreamy randomness...

I need to do my homework!

'fiction is the answer' i like that! Wink
Artyluvslollypops   [Feb 10, 2008 at 04:16 PM]
yes nicole about ur random outburst: y would we need to leave?(yes i know u said soonish) surely wat we need to do is search for different planet to make sure when the time does come for the sun to expand we wont blast our selves into random space. i think the reason we screwed up the world is because we (humans in general) like to think of ourselves has smartypants, that we can do anything, and nothing will happen and when it does it comes as a shock. Like take the Hummer for example. everyone knows that exust from cars ruins the ozane layer, and that there is a shortage of fuel yet people still buy and use them. and then they whine about global warming. if we blow ourselves up thatll be our fault for making such stupid weapons. all the reason you named for the end save the meteor would be our fault. srry i didnt have a good day today so i decided to do this.

i finally got up the courage to read your outbursts . . . and i agree with every word HORRAY FOR PENGUINS!!!!!! DOWN WITH HUMANS!!!!! HORRAY FOR RANDOM MOMENTS!!!!!!!!!!! DOWN WITH . . .

You have to admit, if you were an alien, you'd think humans were pretty stupid and selfish.
I think that a perfect world would be where everyone has their own "thing" that they do (like a job), but there is no money. Money is only there because we want to acquire it. If we took out our greed for more money, more power, then wars wouldn't happen. If everyone respected everyone and everything, and had not-so-common common sense and logic, and we all worked together, then the world would be in perfect peace and harmony. Every person's job would be considered equally important, whether it was creating cartoons for entertainment, or fixing the plumbing. Oh, and there would also be no stereotypes or prejudice. Actually, now that I think about it, the whole world would be based on respect, and awareness about other people. If you respect someone, then obviously you're not going to hurt them or sabotage their wall with spray paint. Everyone would accept that everyone has different points of view, whether it be religion, nature, food, or even choice in home decor.
(Now, while this world sounds great and all, it also sounds rather boring. Maybe we should throw Artemis and a sandwich in to spice things up a little.)

If we just accepted each other as who we are, acknowledging each other's existence, then maybe, just maybe, we could take a step closer to this perfect world. Remember that we, as the younger generation, are eventually going to replace those before us. Eventually, all of the terrorists in Iraq, etc, are going to pass away, whether it be of old age or unnatural causes. All of the current politicians are going to die. Yes, even the Rolling Stones are going to kick off (although I'm not sure that'll keep them from going on tour). So the question is, when we replace the older generation, are we going to do anything different? Are we going to be fair, logical and practical, not only thinking about ourselves, but the world and it's future? Are we going to build more bombs, and keep attacking one another for no particular reason, or are we going to get rid of weapons, research how to help repair the environment, and decide against getting angry and frustrated at each other, and instead reason it out. And yes, I understand that not everyone is reasonable, but we all are humans. We have to have something in common. I mean, look at us, on this website. We have to have the most varied beliefs, activities and opinions that I've ever come across. And yet we still have things in common. Who says we can't all get along? I'm not going to preach God, and say "Love thy neighbour" (I'm actually rather annoyed at one of my neighbours) as I know many people are agnostic or atheist, but we can try to put up with one another. Get along. We don't have to believe in the same theory of life on earth, or whether or not to eat meat, or even to particularly like each other, but if we just accepted that people are people, and usually stay that way, and decided to work together to try to fix up the damage that's already been done. I mean, how embarrassing would it be if we wiped ourselves out?

*dead silence*

*cough*

*awkward...*

Anyway... I hope that you think about that, and maybe even pass on the general message. If you don't agree with me, fine. I don't mind. But we can still get along and discuss whether or not Artemis can use his fairy to the same extent of a normal fairy.

Oh yeah, when I said before that we need to leave, I did mean to another planet. I thought it was obvious. Oh well. But I did read this excellent story by Catherine Jinks involving a shuttle carrying people into the deep recesses of space. I can't remember what it's called, but the one I read had a picture of the main character in shadow holding up a gleaming sword. Kinda ironic since it's set in the future. Anyway, I highly recommend it. It's rather deep reading, but it doesn't exactly have a happy ending. I hope there's a sequel.

I wish we could cover our roofs with solar panels to get electricity/energy.

I just read Hamlet as a manga. 0.o weird.
