Actually I think Holly and Artemis are perfect for each other except for the few tiny details, like Artemis is about twice as tall as Holly, Holly will live a few hundred years more than Artemis, Holly is much, much, MUCH older than Arty, They are different species, Holly would be better with Trubsy (Eoin Colfer said so) Holly punches Artemis way too much for them to have a lasting relationship, and Artolly just sounds weird (although Houble or Trolly don't sound great either). Plus Trouble wouldn't be able to disguise himself as a troll because there is no troll as hot as Trouble Kelp. Wink

no offense ewwwwwwwww! Griffin we're in a holly + arty shipper pic. anyway discribe how trub looks like?

Arty and Holly are perfect for each other. The fact he's taller than her is not a prob coz I think that with all this fairy tecnology they'll be able to make fairies grow taller. The age difference is not a problem too coz I'm sure that Holly will be able to use har magic to give har beloved Arty a longer life. Then Holly would NOT be be better with Trubsy coz they're too alike and boring, and it doesn't matter if Colfer says ther'll be a T/H relationship: have you ever heard about CANON and FANON? The fact that Holly always pounches Arty makes the ship perfect. And then why do everybody (and also me) think Trubsy is hot? Maybe he's ugly. And we don't know his age, he may be 500 or more...anyway I don't care, coz I luv Trubsy! The only man in the series I like more than him is Root.

Logic. But you don't have a solution to the 'Holly is older than Artemis' problem. Keep working on it. Wink

"with all this fairy tecnology they'll be able to make fairies grow taller"
Wrong. The bigger something is, the more atoms and molocules in it. Therefore, they would need to literally rearrange the components of Holly and find extra atoms of the EXACT type needed. It would be horribly dangerous, too; one wrong molocule in the bloodstream could kill her instantly or leave her with a horrible mutation. And she would have to be dead while the genetic modification was done on her. It's just too impossible. Resizing isn't like walking onto a dot on the floor and yelling "Beam me up, Scotty!"

"The fact that Holly always pounches Arty makes the ship perfect"
That would make Holly an abusive girlfriend. Artemis would be emotionally scarred for life.

"The age difference is not a problem too coz I'm sure that Holly will be able to use har magic to give har beloved Arty a longer life"
Magic could extend his life, but he would still age at a human rate; he would be an old man at 100. The magic would simply be life support for him. Healing somebody can extend a lifespane, but not slow down ageing.

Neutral Weird things happen when I stop frequently visiting this site...
My brain: Weird things happened when you were around you moron!
Me: Oh yeah...

PStarr, I now give you the SP award! It is a great honor, and will earn you much respect! What the heck does SP stand for? I hear you think. Well, technically it should be the SPWRTMST award, but that looks too weird. Anywho, I now give you fanart gallery's prestigious Smarty Pants Who Reads Too Many Science Textbooks award! w00t!
*deafening applause*
So, what do you plan to do with your newfound (...) is supposed to be humorous, not offensive. So just play along with the crazy imaginative idiot (me) so there's a little more happiness in the world (and on the internet).
PhoenixStarr   [Sep 01, 2007 at 05:27 AM]
I don't read science textbooks... XD
Really, I never read them unless I have to aka being forced to by the teacher... (And that's not very often,)

Griffing, the ""Holly is older than Arty" is not a problem. A woman can be older than the man she loves, no? And for a human age Holly should be around 20, so when Arty reaches this age they can have a romance (in fact almost all the Artolly pics show a older Arty).
butler_1993   [Sep 08, 2007 at 12:22 PM]
Actually, according to the Arctic Incident, Holly is around 80, maybe a little younger. Elves just don't age the same way we do. if your confused, go to the scene were Arty tells Root and Holly who he's trying to rescue, and it says that Holly's dad died when she was around SIXTY, not 6 Rolling Eyes
P5YCHIC   [Sep 08, 2007 at 05:52 PM]
I figured out how fairies age. Every four human years is one fairy year. This means that if Holly is 80, she would be around 20 biologically. So this means that fairies should live to be around 360. I don't know, this is just my opinion, but doesn't it work out?
Nicole_artist   [Sep 11, 2007 at 12:45 AM]
But it said that somewhere in the first book "You would fly as if you were a thousand years old again" meaning the sprite was older than 1000. Back to the drawing board Dan!
Gerry   [Sep 11, 2007 at 05:48 PM]
Even if that is so, you can't relate humans to fairies 'cause You Don't Know Enough About Them! Very Happy

Such an expressive, but somehow uninformative comment Athena.
