FanGathering is launching a project to allow Artemis Fowl fans all over the world to write to Eoin Colfer, as one collective group. Anyone is welcome to join in, and it’s very easy to do! You write your letter online, send it to us, we will group them all together, print them and post them to Colfer.
To join in, simply write your message, and email it to colfer[at]fangathering[dot]com. You will get a message back letting you know that we’ve received it.
You can of course do a little more than sending a plain letter if you wish. Feel free to download the letter template below, and edit it whatever way you want to jazz it up with some colour, fan art, fanfiction or anything else you like! 🙂
Templates: Microsoft Word Document or JPG image (Please email entries to the same address, with the letter as an attachment).
1 – Your letter is limited to one page, and must use the template provided. (If you send a text email, we will do the templating for you. Just make sure you it’s less than about 600 words max. )
2 – You accept that all letters will be screened before being sent. If you include anything rude, offensive or inappropriate, we won’t send it. If you’re unsure, feel free to ask us.
So, are you up for joining in and writing to your favourite author? 😀

Eoin Colfer has uploaded the third in his series of video blogs, this time from sunny France. Not a lot has happened in the Fowl world, but he does have some great recommendations for other books to read in the meantime.
And he has said that he will do some more written blog postings soon. Who’d have thought that a writer would take so strongly to videos instead of words??

Thanks to Cr4b5t3r, you can now set your wits against solving a set of 7 Fowl riddles. A word of warning though; it won’t be easy!
Furthermore, the Guardian newspaper is running a competition to win a £50 book token, and a copy of the newly released paperback version of Half Moon Investigations. You can view a comic-style version of the start to the story on the HMI website (Though I recommend downloading the PDF version of it. The flash is a nightmare to use).

Well, did you miss us? FanGathering’s main site has been completely offline for 4 days now, so it’s nice to be back. I apologise profusely for being down so long, and for being without a way to explain the absence properly.
The short explanation is that we had hosting trouble. A lot of hosting trouble. The base cause of it all was the TopSites list, which was abused quite badly by a spam site (Not one of the Artemis ones though!), and as a result, the TopSites list is now gone.
So, how do we make it up to you? Well, we’ll have to try somehow. How about finally kicking off our Eoin Colfer letter project? Or redesigning the site? Or uploading a bunch of new content? I’m thinking all 3 would be needed…
Sound fair to you? 🙂

Artemis Fowl is a popular book with teachers, and we know that a fair number of schools have given out book reports on it. Thanks to MMmn, we now have a huge list of different ideas for book reports, to help you out. 😀

The forum has been upgraded to the latest version of phpBB, so it should look better than ever, with even nicer features! (Most notably, attaching files to your posts.)
So make sure you join in for the best Artemis Fowl chat on the web.
